After reading this I suppose it's back to Withdean!!!!
Of course Mr Bloom has this club at heart ,even in his blood. You do not invest the vast monies he has to bring us to Falmer just to see it collapse. We are all suffering and of course something has to give but without Mr Bloom 5000 of us would still be freezing our b--ls off Never forget every game in that pit. I deliberatly say 5000 of us because how many of US are moaning. Thank you Tony for the AMEX.

I don't think anyone for 1 minute suggests that Tony Bloom doesn't have his heart in the club or is not an Albion fan. But that's not the jist of this thread. I like many fans on here am a skilled and qualified professional in what I know and do daily, ask me to be an IT wizz or work in a bank or run a football club and I wouldnt have a clue for all my best intentions.

Bloom is a mathmatics wizz, expert poker player and someone who knows the gaming industry inside out, that doesn't make him any more a football expert than any fan on here who is a professional in something other than football.

Look what happened to tango man Simon Jordan, who made a mint from mobile phones and lost it all as he couldn't run a (shit) football club.

All blooms success and money came from what he knows well, that doesn't guarantee success in football. For that he has to entrust other professionals from within the game to deliver that success and those he has entrusted are failing spectacularly.

If a senior manager of blooms gaming/property empire who maybe did OK once upon a time but was currently doing so badly, losing money hand over fist, bloom knowing that industry inside out would instantly know it and I guess, react quickly allowing no room for sentiment.

But in football, Blooms hiring decisions are failing him big time and he doesn't react? Why?

Hyypia has been an uninspiring failure from day one, inflexible and devoid of tactical nous on the back of failure in Germany, Burke may have succeeded before but many of his recent signings have been dog awful.

Bloom wouldnt sit back and hope for the best in his own business field of expertise if things were going so badly wrong so why does he with Albion?

Do we have to put forward a "coherent strategy" though? It isn't my job to recruit for these positions. It's Tony's. If I go to a bar, buy a pint and it's flat I don't need to know anything about keeping beer to a) know the beer isn't right and b) to be able to request a fresh one. Same here. I know it's wrong, it's not my job to fix it.

Fair comment, perhaps the pub owner has been trying to get a better beer, but if the one he wants buggers off to Spain then he might have to go along with the current one until something better comes along.

If you know this inside info, then you've got to assume that SH, NJ and probably the players are also aware. I can't imagine that it would do much for the team spirit knowing that the board were looking to replace the manager but didn't because he wasn't available, and that it's probably a matter of time until someone else becomes available.

So Moyes went to Spain.

Perhaps we are now waiting for Pearson.

Trying to stock one of the best and no doubt expensive beverages around shows huge ambition for what was, until recently, a smallish, rural pub.

All this Barber/Burke/Hyppia/Jones out stuff is fine, but no one has put forward a coherent strategy for replacing them with anyone better. There WERE informal discussions with another high profile manager with both lower league, Premier League and Champions League experience a few weeks ago, he took up a better off, whether that proves to be a real good choice for the other club remains to be seen.

You are making this up, aren't you?

or Steve Bruce :) Brian McD is available, as is Billy Davies (maybe a cock but a successful championship cock) and I still cannot fathom why Curbishley is without a job having succeeded with both Charlton and West Ham.

Could even put Calderon in temporary charge, anything is currently better than Hyypia

Calderon has got to be a good shout.

And after reading El Presidente's apocalyptic article about relegation.... it will be a cheap option too.

Hmmm, no new premier managers so far this season. So how can there be a better offer than us? Is it purely financially better package? Which is pretty damning about the lack of ambition of management of the club at the top level.

Are you talking about Neil Lennon?

Brian Mc Dermott now working for Arsenal and said it is his dream job.
Curbishley has been out of direct football for too long to be a number 1 but would make an ideal No 2 for Hypia, but wouldnt accept it I dont think. He has a high opinion of his own ability.

Calderon would be a disaster worse than we have.

Whilst Inigo may not make it as a manager, I find it hard to imagine that he'd actually be worse than what we have.

What evidence do you base this on?

Bloom is a disaster right now and poorly advised. At least he can fly off to Australia while his beloved Brighton under SH amble towards relegation over the crucial christmas period.

Are you saying that the Club has been left without a decision maker?
Does this mean that Sami is safe in his job until after Christmas?

I agree, he would certainly have the dressing room onboard, knows the club and the players well and is a top guy.

I don't know how well he can manage a team but it surely can't be worse than the horror show that's going on at the moment.

Slap yourself around the face, when you've woken up read my post.....I'm NOT comparing Sami, I'm comparing gutless so called (fine weather) supporters. Who feel it is a crime when their team doesn't win.
Surely anyone with even half a brain can see the players NOW available to Sami are of much less a calibre than those on the books 12 months ago...Sami's not Jesus FFS. For the 'needy' on NSC who are looking or need to blame someone I suggest they look more towards the Procurement Dept than the poor bugger that's been left with a less competent squad.
The whingers want it all ways on here....it's Blooms Fault for selling...it's Burke's fault for poor transfers deals..it's Samis fault because he can't make a silk purse from a sows ear.....he has my sympathy. And the club still has my support. Just as it would if we were in the Ryman League, because like many on here I fully support BHA, thick n thin.

You make it sound like we've lost a couple of games and were all trigger happy. But you only have to do 2 things to get to where most brighton fans are right now. 1) look at sami's record with us 1 win in 16 games.
2) look at sami's record with his last club... i have actually lost count of the actual figures, but when you add the 2 together you actually get something like 3 wins in 30 games. Thats not bad luck, thats not bad run of form. That is just the record of most probably the worst manager to ever manage in the history of football. Why should any one who loves there club want him anywhere near there club.
personally, i think his managing career is over.
