If we enter the next GE with the main two parties as they are now, anyone who is a member of 'none of the above' gets my vote

So what choices do the electorate have?

1. A hard-left Labour Party led by 70-year old anti-Semite Jeremy Corbyn (already one GE defeat under his belt)..
2. A hard right Brexit-supporting Tory Party led by a weak robot with no sense of rhythm.
3. A centrist party with a handful of MPs, a 75-year old leader, a whole ton of baggage and a Pro-EU agenda that has no hope of appealing to Leavers.

On that basis I'd say a broad consensus middle ground party supporting a Second Referendum on the terms of the EU Deal stands to get a sizeable vote, but only if they get big hitters from both Left, Right and (preferably) outside of politics to give it that "non-establishment" sprinkle that worked so well for Trump and Macron.

The likes of Soubry, Grieve, Umunna, David Miliband should go for it. I'd also like to see Gina Miller in the mix.

That would be a party I could get enthusiastic about.

Declaring Corbyn an ''ánti-semite''. I see you've easily bought the smears.

How is Labour Hard Left - name a few policies from the Labour manifesto that classify as ''Hard Left''?

Tony Blair should be in the Hague - Took us to war based on a lie which resulted in the deaths of half a million people.

Is that what some people consider '''moderate''?

Outside of Brexit there is a need for a centralist party BUT it would be a very short term success. Until Brexit is sorted though it can't get off the ground because half the population will be against it either way.

Once over it could gain ground but only until the two main parties started to compete back closer to the central ground. That was the death of the SNP and then the Liberals.

Whilst I think there is a popular desire for a centrist party to appear, it would only work as part of a coalition government (if first-past-the-post) or alongside a complete overhaul in our government structure and electoral process. I don't think they could gain more than 1/3 of the votes.

For as long as we maintain a confrontational democracy (where the duty of the opposition is to oppose the government, always presenting an alternative view) we would never get a working majority in government that could do anything (not necessarily a bad thing!).

If the whip system were removed and all MPs voted according to their belief in the proposal being voted on then the "average" MP would be a true centrist... but for as long as the centrists are required to tow their party lines or face retribution, we are destined to lurch right then left then right again and never get an outcome which most voters would agree to be the best solution.

I agree with a lot of this and yet MPs want to spend £3.5 billion repairing our crumbling Houses of Parliament so they can continue the archaic practice of baying at each other from across the benches in some boorish Oxbridge debating chamber display. That may have suited the Whigs vs Tory 2-party system in Queen Victoria's reign but the chamber is not fit for purpose in a 21st Century multi-party democracy.

IMHO a new, modern, lighter, airier, circular building would have been preferable.

Just in case nobody else has pointed out the irony, I will:-

Having pretty much turned most of the moderates in Tories, Blair now wants to reclaim them along with the people he all but forced into communism.

No I don't have a particularly high opinion of Mr Blair.

That's a bit like saying we should drop Murray for a younger faster striker who will score twenty five goals a season. Just like Labour needing a leader who'll appeal to mainstream voters, we haven't got one!

Starmer?

Corbyns policies are totally unrealistic and he is clearly a nasty piece of work as well. Labour does need to either kick him and his communist henchmen out of labour or form a decent labour party aimed at helping the working class but without the extremism and nasty side of the Corbyn labour.

Totally agree. His name is too toxic, unfortunately.

There is nothing 'Unfortunately' about dragging us into illegal wars at the cost of billions of pounds and hundreds of thousands of lives. The guy is a war criminal. End of.

Blair probably the worst prime minister we've ever had in terms of what was achieved .

Gets hammered for the war though and if he ever came back a lot of people and the press would never let that go.

Corrected for you.....

Only thing he achieved apart from the wars, is lining his own pockets.

Should be on trial at The Hague, no credibility to talk about anything, a total disgrace that the media still give him airtime. Responsible for an illegal war, the facilitation of ISIS, a nauseating globalisation culture which decimated our communities and paved the way for a ' *Labour*' government to relax rules which allowed the Archering of our financial system by profiteering scum in 2008 - exactly the same mindset that nearly destroyed our club. Utter filth. Nothing to do with socialism, nothing to do with the Labour Party of today. End of. He and his ideas are finished.
