Tony Adams sacked

Severnside - this was a deliberately misleading (and frankly irritating) thread title designed to get a reaction on a day when this poster (and her husband) have been making a big song and dance about being picked on. It's got a reaction which clearly they wanted.

They could choose not to respond to the comments which pointed this out (and everyone who posts with titles like this gets the same treatment) but they have chosen to stoke the fire by responding and trying to justify the unjustifiable. God knows why they want the attention from people they don't know, but now they are getting it they should not be bleating about it.

They STILL have the option to just bow out of this thread but will they?

I agree.
But you have to try and the reactions ARE over the top and tantamount to bullying. Unfortunately as you say they are (seemingly deliberately) stoking things on two threads concurrently.

Shame because it spoils the usually harmless and childlike (smutty/rude or crude) humour which prevails on here and helps us old codgers to feel less decrepit (on line at least)

Well, at least we agree to agree. A little corner of harmony on NSC. I think what we all need is some bloody football to talk about. Roll on Tuesday.

You have kinda brought it upon yourself though, if you feel you're being unfairly treated disappear off somewhere else.

Quite, if you don't like it, don't play up to it as you have here. The reaction is just the same as i'd expect if i, or anyone else made a pony subheading like yours.
I can only assume you must actually like the attention or your'd not bother coming back, just like others have.

Edit: Heading/Subheading now changed - Don't know why, it's a very 'NSC' <i mean hillarious :wozza:> thing to have this type of headline, and the OP always gets knocked for it.

I don't come on here much these days, but everytime I do it seems as though everyone is having a pop at Bhadeb/jumping on the bandwagon. Whatever the rights and wrongs, leave the gal alone ffs, we're all Albion fans at the end of the day aren't we?

A bit tough, but results had nose-dived since Harry left.

Still think Tony Adams has the makings, though. Hope he gets a chance to tr-group with a lower league club soon. (I am a Brighton supporter, with a soft spot for Liverpool too, and I don't go round hating other clubs (except the one we're playing at the time) but I do make an exception for Arsenal - I can't stand them! Even so, I hope Adams gets another chance.

I am suprised that it has taken them so long to sack him and just after strenuously denying, last week, that Curbishley was being lined up as his replacement. Why wait until after the transfer deadline is it so they dont have to promise the new manager funds for transfers and rely on loan signings?

I don't think Tony Adams is in any way, shape or form made of the right stuff to be a top manager, or even a Championship manager.

If it was the bloke that was such a tower of strength for Arsenal in his playing heyday, then possibly he could do it.

But this guy is a pale shadow of that man, too much therapy, emotionally damaged and much too vulnerable and weird for such a tough job. Players need someone who can put ideas and tactics into very simple language. Adams was taking simple ideas and turning them into gobbledegook.

It's a shame, but in my opinion we may not see him back at any decent level.

This is very irritating and has spoiled an otherwise very enjoyable day for me. For weeks I've been enjoying PFC's inexorable journey towards the relegation zone. The ineptitude of other teams at the bottom has served only to delay the inevitable and mean that 1) when they hit the bottom there is less time to turn it around and 2) make the agony of relegation more painful for the despicable human flotsam that inhabit Fratton Park.

If they now appoint someone who has got a scooby they might yet pull off an escape. Damn! For now though let's cling to the hope that their entire stay in the top flight will turn out to have been some hideous Bobby Ewing style nightmare and that when we wake up they will still be playing in front of 7000 in Division 3.

I don't think Tony Adams should have been appointed in the first place, he just doesn't have the experience. Anyone who goes in now will just be fighting a rearguard action and I think Pompey will be in the Championship next season. It's looks bleak for Southampton and I sincerely hope that Bournemouth can maintain their league status but I am not optimistic.

I just hope we will be the one South Coast team that keeps it's place.

He hasn't gone yet. His fingertips must be getting tired though.

Can I just say I was astonished to find out that some of you are in your 40's and 50's in the thread about how old is old.

My 6 year old shows more maturity!

I agree. Through his own highly-public battle with his personal addiction(s), I think he'd make an excellent manager of those who seek help to resolve similar issues. Unfortunately, the daily requirements of football club management evidently require other qualities. Best of luck to the guy, I say. There's plenty of people out there who will benefit from his help.
