We started with 5 defenders, 3 attackers and no wingers.

Did anyone expect us to win that way?

TB

Straight away it looked wrong, and the old story (end Sept/Oct/Nov) of other teams then licking their lips, growing in confidence, and winning everything in centre midfield with 3 mobile pacey players against Bridcutt & Navarro.

This made a poor Championship team look bloody good away from home.

Came from behind twice with an experimental hotch-potch of a side against a team fighting relegation. I've felt worse coming away from The Amex.

It's just that the game was there for the taking if he hadn't out out that hotch-potch side, win tonight and that would have really driven us up there as play off contenders.

I think to a degree that may be right but we played very poorly and remember it was the Subs that made the difference on Saturday, a sub got us a point this evening.

as for "All the hard work thrown away" How does that work? I would of been delighted with 4 points after Leeds and Millwall. That is what we have

Agreed Arty, some sensible other comments to boot. We cant win every game and I am frustrated we didnt win tonight but I think the way Millwall set their stall out it was always going to be tough to break down. I would take 2012 so far all the time. It did seem we were not in full gear at times but a great rescue of 1 point in the end.

Absolutely. Shouldn't be the case though as this was more important.

This. I've watched us play Liverpool in the Carling Cup and Newcastle in the FA cup and neither came as close as, say Barnsley in terms of importance imo. The league is what it's all about.

My one point this evening was how well Henderson did against Greer. It was for me the worst game Greer has had this season and it was all because Henderson was such a hand full. Roll on Saturday when he will have Suarez in his pocket. Watch out Gordon, he bites!

Blackpool have big tie @ Goodison, but did the biz tonight.
Millwall have the same versus Bolton, but did the biz. Outplayed us.

They were professional and concentrated on the game in hand.

It was more about selection, formation, and several players had awful nights (passing to Millwall repeatedly).

I too was very suprised by the formation.

4-3-3 clearly didnt work, well not with that front 3 anyway, we were so narrow

I felt for CMS again, finally he gets a partner and we play 3 up top and no wide man, he had no where to run...and no delivery from out wide.

It was crying out for Noone or Lua Lua to start and Vokes with CMS up top.

But what do I know, easy looking back on it, Im sure Gus learnt a lot.

Bloody delighted with a point in the end, probably our poorest performance of the season. The back 4 were awful with our passing tonight, largely again down to formation I hope.

Oh well still unbeaten. :)

Bring on the Scousers.

Sounds like a Greer sending off then. ???

CMS out to be being supplied by the wingers, that's the way it usually (almost) works for him, zipped off the top, and all he needs to do is run and finish, with someone staggered behind him on the left to pass it right onto his right foot.
