Tomorrows game

I know the trouble is some way away at the moment, but with police resources and our air support being sent to London is there a chance the game could be called off?

Just been on BBC news that Sussex & Surrey police forces have been summoned to the affected areas

looking more and more likely... Police resources being stretched due to fatigue.. Sussex police are getting called in to assist!

Football is secondry. This is nasty and showing no signs of letting up!

I can't see the games at Palace and Charlton possibly going ahead tomorrow night given policing issues let alone the threat of more disorder, so would be very straightforward to put ours off as well...sadly.

No but if theres going to be close to 20k people somewhere, I think theres a lot of policing goes into it either way. Also given that the police asked our fixtures to dovetail with Crawley, I presume they are already concerned about resources being stretched. And, you already have Crawley going up to Palace, and a game at Charlton. And Gills fans would have to travel through London. I hope you are right and I am wrong, but I would not be surprised.

surely sending our police to London just gives way for trouble to start down here, or at least in some areas of Sussex like crawley.

but anyway, as said both teams are from unaffected areas and there is no real rivalry between the teams, also a low(ish) attendance, can't see it being called off tbh.

I can see all games in the London area being called off though.

i used to live not that far from the ground and there is always reports of trouble just hardly makes the news

I think the emergency government meeting tomorrow morning will determine what will happen. The game could get called off as every police force will now be on alert to either respond locally or further afield
