I know he has his doubters on here, but I actually think he played really well on Saturday when everyone else seemed to be struggling.
He certainly seemed to offer something from midfield, which is what we have been missing this season especially at home.
So...does he deserve his chance in the first team under Adams? For the City match and possibly beyond...?

Can't be any worse than the 4 which started on Saturday, worth a go.

completely agree...last season, when he's come in, he's always done his job, which is a no-nonsense midfielder.

I actually rate him alot more than Thomson and think he gets too much unnecessary stick on here for a youngster.

Fraser's biggest problem is that Wilkins used to play him in stupid positions, like wide right, when the lad hasn't got the pace.

Whenever I've seen him in front of the back four as a defensive midfielder, he's always done well.

I don't totally understand the people who completely slate him. Admittedly I have only seen him about 4 times at the end of last season but every time he looked very assured, always played the right pass and didn't lose possession.

Difficult to rate him based on last Saturday.

He DID offer us something different and a bit more positive, but that wasn't a normal game - he had no opposition midfield to battle against so had acres of space to work in.

I'm not against him coming in - I have seen him play very well and very poorly - but it shouldn't be based on the Walsall game which was a freak.

On balance I think he is worth a try.

I would LOVE to know why Adams thinks that Thomson deserves to wear the shirt despite playing so poorly. I don't really care if he is our vice-captain, on Saturday's evidence Fraser played for his shirt and Thomson yet again didn't!
If only to try it out and give Thomson an almighty kick up the arse, it's gotta be worth a shot!

Believe me you would notice it if Thompson wasnt there !!!! the amount of work that he gets thru that goes unnoticed is immense.

That said we do need a creative spark in the middle at the mo & Thompson does the 'water carrier' bit well but hyasnt been creative

Yes. But for God's sake, the crowd need to cut him some slack. I seem to remember a certain Dean Hammond getting slated for a long time, and he didn't turn out too bad...

Call me old fashioned but I like to have a central midfielder who is actually capable of passing accurately.

I know it's a big ask.

What's the point of giving the ball away even if he does do it in a 'creative' way?

Fraser gave the ball away ONCE on Saturday. Rest of the time he was both accurate and creative with his passing.

Tommy is great, has always looked the part and is still young and learning his trade. I like to see him playing and think he can match what we currently have.

Forgot to mention...Fraser is a better set-piece taker than Cox as well. In fact his corners are FAR better.

That's not the greatest compliment in the world though is it?

We need someone who is capable of creating something and while the others that have started aren't capable of it I don't think Fraser is either.

He is young but good players are good when they are young.

If you can't look comfortable at this level you're never going to be a world beater.

So that is settled then, Fraser is the answer.

Next.

Not saying he is 100% the answer, and I'm not sure anyone else has said that either.

But do we really keep starting the same eleven when they are playing like this?

I think Fraser did enough on Saturday to earn a starting place, isn't that the way it's meant to work at a football club?
