You obviously don't remember the last time he played for Southampton in the PL, when he was outstanding. Davis is a terrific keeper, from what I've seen. I was very surprised he didn't move on from Southampton when they went down to League One.

Davies played for Sunderland in the PL in the 05/06 season, relegated and Davies was sold for 1/4 million less than what the Black Cats paid for him after only 1 season at the club.

According to wikipedia he was initially on loan (sounds like there was confusion over his signing). He made 6 appearances, then officially signed and made a further 26 appearance. He has represented poland 10 times (and the under 21s 14 times).

Did he say "don't worry (some) signings will happen" or did he say "this specific signing will happen" ?

I always though that the length of the pitch that he can kick if needed as a get out is one of his strong points and if it happens it would be route one for CMS to latch onto.
