Fair enough, people seem to fundamentally disagree. I went into the game wanting him to be brilliant, I had said to a few people he was a keeper we should be looking at and I was hoping he would be a complete unmovable object. Maybe I expected too much, but I was disappointed.

Who do you see as a realistic potential target?

I honestly don't know. I haven't done the ground work. I would have liked Joe Lewis, especially on a free. Tom Heaton maybe. I would love to see Kasper Schmeichel in our goal, but that is unrealistic. Andy Lonergan of Leeds has good Championship experience, but would probably need replacing if we went a league higher.

Fair enough, but I have to say if we are judging keepers on one off performances against Joe Lewis had a mare at London Road. Any of the others would do nicely!

Joe Lewis has never played well against Brighton. I think that's more to do with Peterborough's defensive set up than his goalkeeping ability though. Put him behind our defence and I suspect he would do quite well. We'll probably never know now. It's difficult coming up with a goalkeeper for us, the way we want him to play football. I suspect we'll not end up with a new one anyway.

What about the 3-0 at London Road, when he kept the score down from being double figures?

Anyone, a lack of real quality keeper is one of the things that meant we weren't competing at the top last year. Kuzczak or however you spell it would be a PERFECT remedy for that.

Get him in Gus.

Peterborough fans were pleased to see the back of Lewis. Said both their keepers were dire all season.

We need the next Federici type. Class.

Hang on. Why the f*** would you want an opposition keeper to be a "complete unmovable object"? Are you f***ing mental? I want them to be shithouse against us and world class any other time they like.

That game was absolutely ridiculous. Seem to remember him making a save that seemed to defy gravity from a Kishishev shot.

Pretty sure the one you're thinking of (top left corner, down the far end) was from Bridcutt. He also saved a Benno penalty, and tipped one over brilliantly from Battipiedi, right at the end. Amongst lots of others.

Probably the best gk display against us I've EVER seen.

But I still don't especially rate him. Far too inconsistent.

Lonergan wasn't great against us in either game last season. CMS's second goal went past him too easily, and great strike though it was, he should have stopped Navarro's winner in the away game. Kuscak would do nicely for me. First goal he couldn't readjust his position in time after saving Calde's first shot, and the follow up took quite a bounce on its way in; Buckley's shot was unstoppable. Rest of the time he looked completely solid.
