James - 5 - 1 good stop but his kicking was shit and he should have saved 1 maybe even 2 of the goals
Johnson - 4 - anonymous going forward, can't defend
Terry - 1 - worst game ever
Upson - 2- scored, but other than that was equal to Terry
Cole - 4 - shit going forward
Gerrard - 5 - wasteful from range, but was involved a lot, good assist
Lampard - 5 - good "goal" and free kick, nothing else
Barry - 3 - made to look mediocre
Milner - 5 - a few good crosses and touches, but at fault for 2nd
Rooney - 6 - best game of the tournament, good all round performance, just a shame he's been poor all tournament and only had 1 chance
Defoe - 5 - looked a threat with his pace, but never really involved

Heskey
Cole
SWP - all 1. All dreadful uses of substitutes by Fabio

james 3 - 2 of the goals he was at fault for.
johnson 4 - Didn't do alot wrong, neither did he do alot right!
ashley cole 5 - Same as Johnson, but at least he ran he nuts off
terry 5 - should be captain still. Did his best playing alongside an invalid.
upson 1 - out of his depth, only good thing was the goal.
lampard 7 - was my MOTM, had his goal counted, it would have been a totally different game! Hit the bar again aswell!
gerrard 5 - Tried but could have tried harder.
barry 2 - poor.
milner 5 - why bring him off?
defoe 4 - did nothing apart from head against the bar - unfairly ruled offside.
rooney 2 - one of the main people to blame for being out already, alongside capello.

subs
heskey 1 - completely wrong type of player for that situation.
wright phillips - pointless sub
joe cole 4 - why oh why didnt capello use this gem more?!?!?!

manager capello - 0 - Get him out!!!! Stubborn, Clueless, Wrong decisions at the wrong times.

Could've been 3 if I'm being really harsh.

Culpable for the first - poor starting position, Klose had overun the ball for a split second, but the fact the central defenders (rightly) took most of the flack saved him any stick.

Second goal, should never have been beaten so easily from that angle, technique completely wrong.

Third goal went through him - that was the worst one.

To be fair would any golie really have expected no midfielder or centre half to have got a head on the ball from the german 6 yard box to the england penalty area?

Second goal, should never have been beaten so easily from that angle, technique completely wrong.

Harsh. They broke down the right and he naturally had to close down the angle. For the ball to be squared to an unmarked player at the opposite post left him loads to do.

Third goal went through him - that was the worst one.
Possibly agree, but on balance he stopped 2 or 3 other clear cut chances so deserves some slack as Upson, Terry and Johnson were Park Footballers at best today.

i think you're being harsh. At best what you're describing is 'could have done better'. The fault for all four goals in the game lies with the outfield players who got themselves horribly, horribly out of position.

Sorry I disagree.

First goal, watch the replay, backed off to such an extent he was on the 6 yard box when Klose overan the ball.

Second goal, just poor technique, should've stood up and faced the ball. Just technically very poor.

Third goal was just dreadful goalkeeping, not dissimilar to Owen's against Oliver Kahn (who was subsequently hammered by the English and German press).

Of course the outfield players played a part as well.

I keep saying to myself at least it not the Albion!!!!!

1st goal he came out too late, then crucially stopped, he who hestitates ...

2nd goal nutmegged but should've been backed up by a defender being on goal line to clear the shot.

3rd goal didn't have much chance dealing with hard short from close range.

And for that he gets a six? FFS, he should have been subbed early in the second half, he was completely cack, almost embassingly so!

james took a couple of steps back on first goal after upson had meed up then came forward..he should of been stright out and smothered that.
2nd goal he was woefully out of position and moved like he was trying to stop the cros and left the goal wide open..oh and johnson for 2nd wa heading towards the goal and would of stopped it on the line had he not for some reason stopped?!

And how the hell has rooney suddenly lost the ability to even control a football.....
should of seen more of crouch with defoe up front.......

and if he had gone with carragher and terry he could have left terry LCB and he and cole play together every week and carragher and johnson do...surely better cohesion for the team?

This is complete nonsense. Upson and Terry were both out of position all the time. Terry was as much to blame as Upson. Not one of those players is better than the others, they all showed massive tactical ineptitude.
