This is what happens when you let the Laymans, non private school types and NCO equivalents vote, next thing they want to be on the bench.

No wonder the country is going to the dogs.
when we want the opinions of people who live with thier mums we will let you know........

Not that somebody's limited internet persona should be completely confused with REAL LIFE, but if you were asked to choose one person on here, who's stated views and general take on life, made them wholly unsuitable to become a magistrate, TIMMY would be fairly high on the list.

One would hope not, but then I guess the opinionated and generally wrong element is more than covered. Just shows how society is slipping.
I can't claim the dole 1 because my ex employer has actually payed me until the 30th November as well as redundency 2 I can get my contribution payed.

However from 1st December I can obtain if I wish Contribution based Job Seekers Allowance of £60.15 a week thats almost an e/w luckey 31

But generally magistrates are upstanding members of the community or retired types, normally if you like, the officer class. Not sure those ‘between jobs’ can be classed as an upstanding member of the community.

Personal qualities
You don't need formal qualifications or legal training to become a magistrate.

However, you will need to be able to demonstrate six key personal qualities:

good character
understanding and communication
social awareness
maturity and sound temperament
sound judgement
commitment and reliability

I thought magistrates would be expected to spell correctly ? You spelt paid as payed, redundancy as redundency, and lucky as luckey, hardly good enough for an aspiring magistrate eh ? Perhaps you could pop down to your local adult education centre for some literacy lessons during your time off ?

Looks like he is going to have to find other ways to fill his day then. Fair enough falling a bit short on one of the requirements, but on all six is at best rather embarrassing.

my dyslexia does not inhibit me from posting on NSC nor will it inhibit me from becoming a magistrate I am so pleased you find my disability amusing.

I think, UB is being unfair. We have no evidence to question Timmy's 'commitment and reliability'. The other 5 do seem a bit of a worry, though, most particularly the 'social awareness' and 'maturity' bits...
