The THV people sound like an absolute shower, and I wouldn't want the club involved in any sort of business deal with people who can't even organise their own enquiry submissions.

Surely their disorganisation rules them out as serious players and their submissions inadmissible?

Indeed.

Fuckers one and all. The owners and all their 'experts'. Take Mr f***ing Stiles for instance. Lying fucker. If any of you are buying or selling a house in Sussex will you be using his company? (Stiles Harold Ledger / Stiles Harold Williams can't remamber which is the new one). I suggest not. Hit the fuckers where it hurts. Mercenary bastards.

Cherish your grudges. Never let them go. I still can't drive past a FOCUS DIY without growling.

The club & city council are quite right to be furious. Un-professional is not the word and any fool can see through their motives, but does the Argus really have to state that "THV has emerged as a threat to Falmer" when it quite clearly it isnt.

The answer to this is pretty simple really, the Argus, although generally in support of the Albion and the Falmer campaign, have a higher priority, to sell newspapers. That is the way of most newspapers these days, fact of life.

Most folk who are not 'in the know' will see the headline, and think, wow, I gotta read that, and go buy the paper. Is it fair, I'd say so, Is it immoral? Probably

Look in tonights edition of the Argus. The impression that THV is a plausible alternative is being written out. Apparently a sub-editor changed some of Ron Hesselwhite's copy and created the wrong impression.

Also wait for the reports of today's activities by NSC's resident reporters. Mr Ellis admitting that the development would create unacceptable queues onto the A27 and that a Resident's Parking Scheme could not be put in place.

Compass coaches only have about two coaches anyway and its interesting to see that Stagecoach have yet to detail exactly how many coaches they can supply and where the hell they are going to find the additional driver to operate them!!

More delay tactics and contempt shown for a process the Albion have followed to the letter of the law. Lets hope this latest desperate ploy is treated and disregarded for the ill calculated and presented b*llocks it really is..............

I've just looked back to the proposed timetable announced when prescottt overruled the previous enquiry inspectors.

"Mr Prescott has not come down categorically in favour of the proposed 22,000-seat arena in Falmer. But, crucially, he has also not ruled out the plan.

Instead, he has called for a short coda to the public inquiry to iron out the remaining issue: Is there another suitable site in the city?

A third inspector will preside over the hearing, which is scheduled to report back before Christmas. "

and now we are looking at feckin May for christsake before the thing even finishes

Spot the difference ...

The Argus (Morning edition)

Stadium inquiry stunned as rival emerges

... Toad's Hole Valley has emerged as a threat to Falmer's status as the only credible choice for the Seagulls' community stadium following the testimony of one of the final witnesses. ...

Handwritten note passed to me at the Inquiry this morning:-

Ed - Slightly aghast to see Argus headline and how my second paragraph had been changed in this morning's edition and appears to give credence to this evidence. I made representations and it will be changed back for City Final edition. Just so you don't think I'm a complete imbecile! - Rob

The Argus (City Final edition)

Albion dismiss match day bus claim as farce

... A transport expert hired by the owners of Toad's Hole Valley dropped a last-minute bombshell designed to threaten Falmer's status as the only credible choice for the Seagulls' community stadium. ...

Nice work, Rob

No and the reporter who filed the story was very cross today at the Inquiry as his report had been rewritten which altered the meaning of the original report. He asked for it to be changed in tonight's edition but have not seen a copy to verify.

Whoops. Posted this and missed Lord B's learned reply.
