How the hell do u cope with an IPad? ??? It's like regressing to two fingered typing again, unless I'm missing something.

I don't tend to use mine for stuff that involves a lot of typing, only the same as I would on the phone - so I'm quite happy to use the raptor method.

Isn't there an equivalent app to the brilliant Android app 'Swype'? One just glides the finger over the keyboard to spell the given word and it auto spaces and so on. Very fast and very accurate!

I find typing on my iPad to be pretty quick actually. Not touch type quick but perfectly acceptable.

While on the subject, ish, explain this to me.

I brought a new keyboard nearly 2 months ago, and I just can't type on it.
I catch other letters, or my hands are in the wrong place entirely, not that I'm any kind of typist.
I end up editing most posts, because there are so many mistakes I don't get them all when I reread.

There's no obvious size difference, or anything like that, certainly not enough that I couldn't get used to in 2 months.
But I just can't type on this keyboard.

I realise I'm an outlier (i.e. freak) here, but I type pretty fast on my iPad, especially if it's laid down on a table with the cover folded under it. Almost as quick as on a real keyboard, and without too many extra mistakes. The iPhone is a different matter entirely, it often seems to insist I've pressed the key to the right of the one I was aiming for.

If you'd had a rubber-keyed Spectrum as a kid, you wouldn't complain about typing on an iPad!

Edit: Stat Brother I find that the travel distance on the keys makes a huge difference to my typing for some reason. I'm used to a laptop with a reasonably short travel distance, my typing suffers a bit on a normal keyboard and I'm pretty sure it's because of the travel distance- I don't press the keys down far enough on standard keyboards. Maybe your issue is related?
