...who, other than Germany, has been any better over their three games?

France? Unconvincing despite going unbeaten.
Spain? Lost to Croatia (who might be the answer to the original question)
Italy? Lost to Ireland.
Portugal? Nah.
Belgium? Nope.

I certainly don't think we are a bad side at all. I just question the managers decisions sometimes.
We need to fire on all cylinders regardless that the opposition is Iceland. We need to build momentum.

First up, I'm not in the "England have been shit" camp myself.

But your list does a massive disservice to Croatia, Hungary and Iceland.

Don't see why we should just be compared to the 'big' countries when these three have given a great account of themselves. Croatia especially look very good ( which admittedly you concede).

We have played well in each game, but had no idea (apart from bits in the wales game) how to break down a team that parks the bus. That's going to happen again on Monday and we need to find away to break that down. An early goal will help that.

Well you've answered it yourself. France

They may have been unconvincing, but they won two of their group games, and drew the other, to finish top of their group.

In many ways, the competition proper doesn't really start until the knock out stages. I still fancy them to win it..

Who might the "England have been shit crowd" be ???

My opinion is England have been mediocre however a tie against Iceland in next round looks promising.

Croatia, but Hungary were impressive i thought, maybe not a great footballing side but they know what there limitations are and played to them very well, they are a tough side and looked very fit.

Personally, I've found England quite refreshing. Unbeaten and deserved to win all three matches - it's just that sometimes it doesn't happen in front of goal. Germany found that against Poland (and only scored one against NI), France couldn't score against the Swiss, Portugal against Austria and so on.

We're all so accustomed to feeble, inhibited, dull football at tournaments that we're almost ready to blame the team for another similar showing, despite the fact this has been nothing like the team under SGE or Capello.

Once again we have muddled through without ever putting down a marker and hoping group stage results give us an easyish tie in the next round. We don't frighten anybody and when the chips are down.....
