Southern fail and running only 8 coaches was stupid , also didn’t help that network rail had closed fast lines between Croydon and three bridges resulting in every train either fast or slow having to use the slow lines via redhill , nightmare when running late and then stuck behind an all stations stopping service . We were lucky and made the 20:46 to polegate (only 25 late) before the stupid barriers got drawn across at vic .

Got the coach home and it took three hours ... not too bad in the scheme of things.

Son tried his luck on the trains, and got home (to Seaford) six hours after the game ended, having paid a £65 taxi fare from Brighton because he was too late for any connecting trains. (He'd failed to board two trains at Clapham Junction because they were too crowded, and the third one was running late.)

4.30pm kick-offs on a Sunday are a pain in the arse.

Walked to Wembley Central, then Willesden, and Clapham, onto an Arundel train, back around 10.30 ish

My day was 5 mins short of 12 hours. Left home at 10.50 to catch ST coach at 11.10. 3 hour journey to the pink coach park at Wembley. After game coach took a while to clear park, but got back to drop off point in 2.5 hours. Home at 10.45. All for 2 and a bit hours of football.

Didn't help that there was no Jubilee Line when I got to the front and had to go Metropolitan to Baker St to join the Jubilee.

That was actually the quickest way to and from Wembley to Victoria. Jubilee has too many stops for the first part of the journey so Metropolitan to Baker Street, Jubilee to Green Park and then Victoria line to Victoria was the best way back.

Got to the station for about 20:10 using that route.

Got the Metropolitan line to Kings Cross and then Northern line to London Bridge. Wasn't too bad. Got back to Brighton at 9:50. Left right after penalties.

Amazes me what people will do on phones on a train. Coming home from work one day I was sat next to woman renewing her car insurance. In about 10 minutes I heard her name, address, car registration, 16 digit card number, expiry date and 3 digit code on back of her card

Never been to Wembley before, I had heard that queues were bad but when I saw Wembley Way after I literally said "****ING hell".

Not an easy place to get away from!

If the KO had been a reasonable time (3pm) then fine but 16.30 with possible E.T and penalties is taking the proverbial IMO.

There has been a lot of moaning about the ko time. What the moaners don't appear to grasp is that a ko time even later than Sunday's would not be a problem, if the UK had a functional transport system. Resentful comments have been made about the FA and Wembley Stadium cashing in but it's not their fault the transport system lets fans down (in terms of cost as well as quality of service). Who's fault is it? 1) The 'corrupt' Premier League, 2) the EU, 3) Khan, 4) the government? (before answering, please ensure you understand the relationship between the Mayor and the Secretary of State for Transport in deciding the size and nature of the funding gap for TfL).

Echo the point that 16.30 KO on a Sunday is an absolute pain in the arse. Unfortunately, 81,000 bothered to go yesterday. Until that number dwindles, no one who makes these decisions will care.

I'm equally annoyed that this Saturday is our last 15.00 KO which effectively makes it my sons last home game given we have a 300 miles round trip for each game. The Everton game being the particular icing on that cake.

It's not the people who decide the ko time at Wembley that you should be focussing your dissatisfaction on, it's decisions made by those who run the transport network and regulate train companies etc that are responsible for the horror stories of crap service that are being mentioned here (and elsewhere). Until the electorate wake from their subservient slumber and stop accepting the current government spin on the issue, the situation's never going to be resolved. Do you think German fans have to put up with this level of transport service?

Nah, I am not buying that. Sure the govt and TFL etc have a part in it all but the FA and TV are firmly to blame. They know the state of the infrastructure and yet they arrange things for the $$$ and the benefit of the TV viewers first. Putting blame on different govts etc cannot change the fact that the FA fully understand the situation they put the match-going supporters in. Looking at the tagline under your posts it is no surprise you take this stance.

That train journey back from LDN Victoria was horrifically slow.

I got the Weymouth train from Waterloo back to Dorset. It was rammed with United fans. Many got off at Guildford.

Got back about 11:15. Had planned to have a final drink near London Bridge but saw the queue for Wembley Park so popped back into the Box Park for drink and a bite to eat. Came out and the place was clear. 9:51 from London Bridge but long wait for taxi at Haywards Heath.

My wife and son went to TGI's after so they could wait for the crowds to die down a bit....didn't work.
Caught the 9.50 (which was still rammed), some drunk guy tried to pick a fight but got smashed himself by someone else...blood everywhere on the floor apparently.
Picked them up from Brighton just after 11 - rather frazzled, tired, & hot.

Much earlier and the clash with the marathon would have been a problem……..by making it 4.30 the numbers going into/out of London were spread out much more than they might have been.

As much as I like an opportunity to slag off the shitshow, national disgrace which is Avanti trains and Frodo Sunaks bunch of backhand taking culture warriors, it's not them that decided to put the National stadium in its inaccessible location. Neither do they put kick off times later and later to appease international audiences or rearrange games which could be played on a Tuesday or Wednesday for a Thursday night to make Saturday 15.00 games impossible.

If fans turned up and TV audiences increased, we'd be kicking off at midnight. The TV companies and the FA own those decisions. Revenue reduction is the only way things will change.

Yes. The Munich stadium is dreadful to get away from. Far worse than Wembley.
