I hope Hereford win as I was one of those who trudged all the way to that godforsaken hole 'The Shay' only to have the game called off 45 minutes before kick off because the muppets had allowed a kids rugby match to be played there 24 hours earlier.

I was also there that night, admittedly I'd only travelled from Liverpool so it wasn't so bad as for the majority of Albion fans. But in Halifax' defence I believe that the match would have been called off anyway as there was a real deluge for a couple of hours prior to kick-off. The re-arranged match had a good atmosphere, I can still hear us singing at the end to the home crowd, 'We're going up, you're staying up'.

Heady days indeed.

Twas actually a pro Rugby League match, Halifax Blue Sox were in the top division and it was Sky's fault for moving the game to cover it live.

A handful of us offered to fork the pitch in an attempt to get the game on so the stewards let us in 'would have been free if the game went ahead' but alas there was not a blade of grass to be seen on the playing surface, no chance.

Blame Sky, not Halifax.

Halifax to win.

:clap2:

I was there that night. The game was called of twice that season. The only reason it went ahead the night it did was because it was the Thursday before the end of the season and there was no other day to play the game. Plus they sold us the same program that would have been used 2 months before.

However it was a good night when the game was played. We had just beaten Cheaterfield to win the title and their players clapped our team on to the pitch. I also got in for nothing. Add to that that Adams played the kids which allowed Halifax to get the point they needed to stay up.

At the end we were singing

We're going up, You're staying up.

Shook hands with loads of their fans and got brouight a few beers after the game.
