I cannot and will not pray to the footballing gods for a pikey win. Do a draw.
It just occurred to me, if mr tumble and sockboy go in for a tackle, will it resemble two new born foals on ice, or a couple of drunk teenage college girls in a vat of baked beans?

It would be like that old episode of Porridge in which two boxers had both been nobbled to go down first :lolol:

I really don't want Palace to win, ever, even the Cardiff win last season felt dirty despite what it meant to us because you know that they will hold it over us, we're only in the league because they beat Cardiff, conveniently forgetting the 6 points we had off them last season.

Villa to nick a cheeky goal and win 1-0.

Repeat after me. "Brighton win, Palace lose".

A Villa v Palace DRAW wouldn't be the worst result in the world, would it?

I previously and mistakenly posted that Watford could have overtaken our longest winless streak, somehow ignoring their best result of the season against Liverpool. We still have this season's longest run without a league win at 175 days. If Villa fail to beat Palace tomorrow they will take their own streak from 172 days to a minimum of 177. Their last win was on 21st January. Bournemouth are on 161. Norwich only 134, currently working hard to make it at least 137, but despite their sterling efforts, won't have enough days left of the season to overtake us.

I wouldn't begrudge Palace a point if it gives Villa a record to prove that they are in no way this year's Fulham. (Even when already condemned Fulham still had enough guts to beat Cardiff and help save our sorry skins).

We’re 250/1 to go down. I’m baffled that anyone doesn’t want Villa beating Palace.

Probably wont be 250/1 if they win... still very safe though unless a bunch of miracles happen.

As you say, a bunch of miracles. It wouldn’t take one incredibly unlikely scenario for us to go down, it would take multiple.

After today’s results and assuming that we lose, I’d be looking out my plastic sheets and nappies if that happened :lolol:

Take comfort in West Ham playing Watford next.

West Ham also have to play Man Utd.
Watford also have to play Man City.

I’m more interested in a Villa win, even if we lose.

Burnley won't be on the beach for our final game - they are sniffing Europe. Means we must get a result vs Saints and/or Newcastle.

I take a lot of comfort from the fact we haven't suffered a below expectation result for 7 games now.

Whilst I'm loving the positive post amongst the histrionics going on today. There weren't that many games that we could score below expectation from the last 7 were there..
