To be fair Palace is always must win
I've always seen it as a 'must not lose' rather than a 'must win' . The occasional wins being bonuses.

My own predictions have us finishing on 56 points

I'm more in the 50-51 camp
I get the reasoning, but it seems a bit odd that we're predicting 0 points from Sheffield United, currently 17th on 1 point, whilst we're predicting 4 points from Everton, currently top of the League on 13...
And for those interested this is how everyone looks with the same logic applied. Great start for Villa!

It's based on previous seasons, not this season.
you say you get the reasoning, but then make a comment that contradicts that. the whole point of this tracker is that it takes out of the equation things like Aston Villas and Evertons brilliant start, or Sheffield's bad start, but is based on the whole of last season. No one really expects Man Utd to get 38 points this time, any more than they expect Villa to win every game and stay top. What it does is provide a great bench mark to see how we are doing, taking to account the average strength of each team we have played. This removes false positions in the league caused by a hard or easy run of games, or some playing out of their skin by a particular team for half a dozen games which is highly unlikely to be kept up for too long.
Yes, I understand all of this, you patronising ****, hence why I said "I get the reasoning". Nontheless, it still feels strange.
