I don't know if we want Conference League. Fun for the fans, is it exciting for the players to make them want to come/ stay? Not sure. And it would cripple our league form with all the extra games.

God this is the most entitled I've ever been ss a Brighton fan, shoot me now
I would assume, if we did make the conference league, in the early rounds you’d see a lot more from the likes of Steele, Webster, Hinshelwood, Adingra, and even some of the youth players (McConville, Turns, Rushworth, Doyle, Peupion etc). And the returning loan players. It would be a strain on the squad but we’d make adjustments to accommodate it. Would be great to make any sort of Europe again!

Man City finish 6th in the League but win the UCL so qualify for the UCL next season.
Man United finish 9th in the League but win the Europa League so qualify for the UCL next season.
Chelsea finish 10th in the League but win the European Conference and so qualify for the Europa League
England have the best UEFA coefficient and qualify for a 5th place UCL spot based on League positions:
Liverpool
Arsenal
Forest
Newcastle
Bournemouth
Due to changes in the rules this season, it's possible for England to have 7 qualifiers for the UCL next season.
Villa finish 7th and qualify for the Europa League.
Liverpool win the FA Cup so the 8th place team qualify for the Europa League say, Fulham.
Liverpool win the League Cup so the 11th place club qualify for the Europa Conference - BHA!

Unlikely but possible - never give up!
I don't believe you are correct that winners of European competitions give their national leagues an extra spot should they not qualify via national league position. It would mean the lowest league placed club gets bumped down to the next competition or not at all if they were conference.

From the EPL site:
Any team qualifying for the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League by winning a UEFA club competition (UCC) does not impact the qualification of other teams through their league position or by winning a domestic cup.

My bad, the rules have changed again!

I'd take any European place all day long. I'm sure Tony Bloom will too.

West Ham seemed to enjoy winning it. And if they can, we can.

I hope we would take it more seriously. I’d much rather a good European cup run than an extra few points in the league, doesn’t bother me if it’s a lower tier competition…

Conference League is easier on the players as it's only 6 group games so you get at least a 2 month break from European Football from mid Dec to mid Feb (longer if you finish in the top 8). However you do have to shoehorn in two play off games at the end of August as no team automatically qualifies for the league stage, but the schedule is still less taxing than the revamped Champions and Europa Leagues.
