I had a go at using this for the current table - to see if it works out with regard to this year's form so far.

Basically I gave us nothing against the 'Big Six'. Then for the other teams above us, one point if we are playing them at home, nothing from an away game. And for the teams below, 3 points for a home game, and one for an away game.

I came up with 37 points, and only 3 points from the final 10 games.

(edit - I started from our current position - not from the beginning of the season)

Don’t think that will be far off, but if we are on 37 I think it will just be enough (16th or 17th). Going to be a nervous few months.

Pretty much bang on for me... think we'll get 36-39pts accumulated roughly as described.

And it will be enough to stay up.

4pts from next 2 games is the happy/less happy threshold.

Effectively that is what the tracker is saying now. Currently predicting 38 points.

That's right - just arranged in a slightly different order!

And I reckon we've got a good chance of winning on Saturday too - which will put us back on target for the original 40.

Updated for the pointless (in so many ways) game at Chelsea. Still 2 points behind.

Why does the title of this thread suggest we avoid bed wetting when we are two points behind?

I don’t bed wet but do believe statistically that we are 50:50 to stay up.

You should be getting involved then as, at 4.0 (3/1), the bookies are saying there is only a 25% chance we will be relegated.

Next 3 games are;

Toon
Bournemouth
West Brom

Tracker reckons 2 points. I’d be very disappointed with only 2 from those. 4 minimum.

This is the thing, at the beginning of the season we require 3 points vs Burnley however when we played them they were 4th in the league so maybe a revision is neeeded.

Can you make this thread a sticky please?
I spent ages trying to find it the other day
Can't you just search for threads with 'tracker' in the title?

In the same way that Everton was a loss because they are a top 7 club but were bottom (4?) when we played them. Point gained but really two points dropped.
