Will you shut the f*** up abusing them and telling them to get off their arses when a player is down injured!!!!

They are NOT aloud to go on to the pitch until the referee has called them on to the pitch.
That is all.

With most sports injuries, the physio (Malcolm Stuart) is probably the best qualified person to make the first judgement of how serious the injury is.

St Johns are trained in first aid, heart-start, etc and are not the specialists when it comes to sports injury.

Don't wish to sound condescending but St Johns provide the stretcher-bearer service for players at footie matches and are better suited to looking after the fans (Malcolm won't) - e.g. if someone gets taken poorly at the ground.

Also ALL trained paramedics are told NEVER to run to an incident. If they fall over and injure themselves they cannot then treat the patient. This is the FIRST thing they are told when they start training. The St Johns people take a lot of unfair flack, but obviously they are a lot more intelligent than those who take the piss out of them. And, as has already been mentioned, they do it all for nothing.

Spot on. St John are trained in Emergency life preservation and basic First Aid. Nothing more. Also they are St John not St John's as in plural. They get very hissy and emotional when people add on the "s" as I found out on a first aid course some years ago!.....

Well, the ones at Gillingham weren't trained. It was the comedy moment of nearly every match when they came on for an injured player.

I'm sure some of the players feigned injury just to get them on.

Can I have a go at the ref, who did not give the foul on Kuipers - which it clearly was...

Often the most (only?) entertaining part of the day at Priestfield.

The injuries always seemed to occur at the Rainham End at the furthest point from where the SJA sat. Was it really running? it seemed a strange form of movement to me, possibly unique to SJA in Kent
