That film was scheduled for 6pm yesterday.. did anyone see it.. would like to know how much they edited as I can't imagine the beeb showing a topless Kate Winslet at around 7pm in the evening.. and that scene is kinda important for the love story.

That, and Dickaprio dying are the only reasons to watch the film

Does anyone own this and can enlighten on the alternative ending? Short of the ship defying history and not sinking I can only think that Di Caprio survives?!?

It ill be shown on christmas day

But it was just a movie, not a documentary.
It never ceases to amaze me when people pick to bits a film based on actual events that takes some artistic licence with the subject in hand. If you want facts on the sinking of the Titanic, have a trawl through the Discovery channels, or read a book on it. Don;t watch a special-effects laden blockbuster movie from Tinseltown and expect a serious and sobering analysis of the events that took place. Its just a slab of entertainment, nothing more, nothing less.

It might have been but they used real people's names in the film. One family took them to court because it was slandering their relative by saying he was a coward when in fact he saved lives in the actual event.

I enjoyed it as well.

The "Titanic" story has always fascinated me and, if you ignore the improbable love story, the Cameron film seems to be pretty accurate. I wish he had done a remake of "A Night To Remember" (classic B&W late '50's British movie of the disaster) but with modern effects.

I believe that the directors cut also has some bits about the "California" - a ship which allegedly was close enough to have arrived on the scene in time to have rescued more passengers.

I will concede that the "singing chins" song is a tad irritating, but the lovely Kate Winslets famous scene, hubba hubba hubba! I believe that it was the first scene that she and Di Craprio filmed for the movie and she dropped her robe and his reaction was the one that was used!

Too right.. I saw Titanic at the cinema ...

Was that the CineWorld in Crawley? The kids insisted on going to see the new Harry Potter movie... I can only apologise to those around me if I was snoring too loud... after all it is warm and dark in there :nono:
