Any new border will be hard for Ukraine to defend just on the length of it alone but I think Moldova will be next on Putin’s expansion list after they’ve annexed (with Trump’s blessing’ more territory in Ukraine)

Oh, so despite Russia's troubles, you've decided that Putin has suddenly won against Ukraine?

It will probably come down to money, The U.S. will buy peace either publicly or covertly. Trump will likely succeed in brokering peace because of his lack of morality - not despite it. World we live in.

How?

That seems like a feeling of 'oh Trump is bad and will get away with stuff' without any actual facts to back it up.

Did you misread/misunderstand my post?

We were talking (slightly tongue in cheek btw) about Trump and an as yet hypothetical situation where Trump has sold Ukraine down the river in some US manufactured ‘peace deal’ where Trump has ‘ended‘ the war.

Keep up!

I thought birth location was the qualification to be president. Maybe the buglekunnt could change the relevant rule.

He can't change the rule (needs two-thirds majority in congress)

There are ‘facts to back up’ the idea that Trump could broker a peace deal that sells Ukraine down the river and settles on the existing frontline as the new border - because he is an appeaser of dictators and did exactly that with Netanyahu over the Palestinians on the implicit facilitation of the annexation of the West Bank settlements to Israel in the ‘peace’ plan - the orangebunglekunt has form.

Please post them.

I don't doubt that he's an appeaser, but what is he going to do to convince Ukraine to give up their country? Has Trump managed to arrange peace in Israel and Palestine without me noticing?

That’s probably because I have no facts to back it up.

It’s just my opinion

I am no fan of Trump but having said that I really can’t think of a world leader I am or have been a fan of 🤔

I imagine he will have a summit with Putin in a neutral country … a big flashy look at how i personally saved the world summit….once both sides have negotiated in private how to make sure everyone saves face🙄

Anyway, no facts just a hunch

Not really the right thread to have a serious debate - already posted many times on both the Trump threads and Ukraine threads and those are the threads to continue the discussion.

Obviously I was referring to his proposals in his first administration

Again, posted on the Trump thread and Ukraine threads many times.

Your post didn't actually say that. So you're saying that interpreting your post required knowledge of the previous posts - ok, but that wasn't clear. I saw your post and replied to that post. IMO it would be better to make it clear you were talking about a hypothetical situation.

Ok fair enough. It read a bit more boldly than just an opinion.

If either side (Ukraine or Russia) think they can get better than the deal offered, they'll want to keep fighting. I don't think there at a stalemate, so I don't think a deal is likely.

Good grief, give me strength - I was replying to this.

My point however is that we cannot assume certainties right now, and Putin is an absolute menace, just as Hitler was in the 30s. The chance of Putin marauding into Poland is low. But he will take as much of Ukraine as he wants, and the new border will be a turbulent place, representing as it were the interface between Eurasia and Oceana.

It is all speculation and hypothetical at this stage what will happen but anyone with any very basic knowledge of Trump’s relationship to Putin and of what occurred during Trump’s first administration, have a pretty good idea that Trump is not going to be bending over backwards to end the war in Ukraines favour.

Over and out.

Enjoy the match later 👍

I’m not a conspiracy theorist by any stretch of the imagination but I honestly believe that there will be a financial solution available even if we never get the details. Trump went to North Korea and as much as the reports all said the phone call that Macron brokered with Iran never happened- it was at least on the cards, IF it didn’t.

I absolutely believe deals get done, but what on earth can Trump offer the likes of Putin and Zelenskyy? Putin is as wealthy as he fancies being (Russia's money is his money) and Zelenskyy isn't for sale.
