Spent the evening in the Thunderdome tonight.

And I concluded: “We don’t need another hero”.

We’ve got enough.

RIP Tina.

West is BEST
River Deep… is one of my favourite tunes of all times.
When she sings that, she means it.

A helluva voice. A helluva career.

At the end of my tether
The praises for Tina Turner keep coming but none are enough to say how good she was, She was cool, she was sexy but had an incredible voice and stagecraft…. None like her. I will always regret not going to see her live .
A legend of our time who overcame so much to succeed . RIP indeed

I missed out on this the other day because I was at some inconsequential football match, but a lifelong appreciation from stuff like River Deep Mountain High through.

She would probably top my list (or near) of people I would like to have seen live after seeing videos of Proud Mary! Loved the CCR original, but........ just wow.

I remember seeing her at the Suite on her comeback tour in the early 80's. What a night and what a performer.

RIP Tina

Private Dancer is one of the finest recordings in the pantheon of music. Something in my eye.

ps @Wozza are you going to see Caroline Polachek tomorrow at Wide Awake Festival? We are going mainly because of other bands on the bill, Lebanon Hanover, Molchat Doma, and A Place to Bury Strangers

It seems Mark Knopfler wrote that specifically for her, it would have been a bloody weird song for Dire Straits to have sung.

He wrote it for himself but didn't like singing it apparently.
