Krul, Flowers, Howard and Atouba amongst the Premier League Tims. Not to mention Bafetimbi Gomis. Away from football, there's Tim Hardaway, Tim Duncan, Tim Horton and Tim Tebow.

Maybe Mr Castagne would have to drop the -othy though.

And Henman.. oh actually I think the word successful was used originally

Think he would fit the new manager's profile and look like a very good addition. Unconfirmed reports that palace were trying to buy him recently and £16m was turned down. Think it unlikely we would offer more. Plus cant see the players agent agreeing that a move from an Italian champions league team to a PL team likely to be involved in a relegation battle is a sensible career move even if we were offering a slightly higher salary

Out of our league price wise and below his expectations for a new club I imagine

We are not going to break our transfer record.....on a defender

They generally make good comedians / comedy subjects:

* Tim Vine
* Tim nice but dim
* the Ronnie Corbett character in “Sorry”
* Timmy Mallet was / is ( at best) an acquired taste

Tim Henman was successful but not as much as we wanted him to be.

Tim Sherwood and Tim Howard were pretty good.

Tim Witherspoon was good.

Over to you... I’m running out of Tims

Or actors with the surname of Biggins. (although he is a Timothy too of course, so a double whammy).

It all leaves me feeling vey Lukewarm to be honest.

Lionel is a silly name for a sportsman as well, I mean entertainer/dancer......

From the Daily Hate.

Crystal Palace are stepping up efforts to sign Atalanta right back Timothy Castagne after the departure of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and injury to main target Nathaniel Clyne.

The 21-year-old joined Manchester United in a £50million deal and the Eagles and have yet to sign a replacement.

Hopes of re-signing Clyne from Liverpool fell through when the defender suffered a cruciate ligament injury during his club's pre-season tour of the USA.

He is now likely to miss most of the season and is not a viable target for this campaign.

Crystal Palace are yet to meet Atalanta's valuation of Castagne, but remain confident they can seal a deal for the Belgian international.

The Italian side are trying to tie Castagne down to a new deal, but have so far failed to match his demands, leaving the door open for the Eagles to swoop.
