anyone have any idea. This "autumn" timescale being banded about seems highly unrealistic.

I agree and the more I think about it, the more worried I get.

A public inquiry is going to look at SEVEN (count them) other possible sites and we're told it could be a Yes by the autumn?

How, FFS?

And I still don't accept the line that Prescott has said a provisional Yes. He hasn't said No, but that's not the same thing.

It's not a case of not trusting anyone. Lord B clearly knows a lot more about this that I do but I'm not convinced I should out be celebrating.

In the immortal words of Winston Wolf, let's not start sucking each other's dicks just yet.

You can be sure that the Falmer NIMBY's will be trying to delay things as much as possible. They are bound to say they need more time to address all the points for all the sites. Then they are bound to come up with some other sites just to throw a spanner in the works. I guess the club have already got all the info and arguments ready as they must of been used in the orginal public inquiry.

Looking at the points and sites in the letter I can only imagine it would take weeks rather than months to dismiss each site, but reality says there will be months of pointless ramblings by the NIMBYS.

it will take us very little time to produce our case for each of the alternatives as we have already gone throught the procedure when submitting hte original pallning application.

The only reason for a re-opening of the Public inquiry is to widen the scope, which was originally focused on the case for Falmer only. Now the inquiry will consider the virtues or otherwise of other *possible* alternatives. As Lord Braknell has stated elsewhere, this would have been inevitable if a judical inquiry had been mounted, but should take a lot less time this way.
