Although some way off, it isn't too early to announce an intention to run for council office in 2007, or at the very least set up a party. I happened to have lunch with a Charlton-supporting colleague yesterday, who said that the local council in SE London only really got worried when CAFC supporters set up their own party, and started to demonstrate real support.

In London village.
Alternatively we could offer our support to Ruth O'Keefe and the other Independent members of LDC who have spoken out against the LibDem/Tory vendetta.

Which is good - but those chaps already have seats. We need to challenge the seats that the fuckwits have too.

Not sure of all the details, but I know you have to be resident in whichever ward you're standing for i.e. I could stand in Lindfield Rural, but not Lewes Castle.

I have just done work on this you have to be over 21 and then either:-

Have lived in the ward that you want to stand for 12 months.

Worked in the ward you want to stand for 12 months.

Own or rent a property in the Ward you want to stand for 12 months.

Few exeptions to who cannot stand even if they meet the above, but the good thing is unlike general elections you do not have to out up a deposit.
