Not in the slightest did I imagine we'd be where we are now. At the start of the season I thought we might make the playoffs if we were lucky. I am truly astounded with this season, and loving every minute of it.

I remember looking at the odds before the start of the season - we were 20-1 to win the league. Did consider having a flutter but thought better of it - shows how much faith I had!

I just wanted us to avoid a relegation scrap and to play good football, that would have done for me. Outplaying and beating Southampton to win the championship would round off a fairy tale season for me.

I thought we would have a good season as we finished off well last season. However, i was hoping for the play offs at best. Doubt anyone thought we would be on 87 points with SIX games to go.

Thanks Greens :(
All I hoped for was football that involved putting 5/6/7 passes together and this is what we have got, plus much, much more!!! Absolutely brilliant from start to near-finish

I had hopes of a play-off place but thought we might just miss out and finish 7th or 8th.

This season has obviously far exceeded expectations and has been dreamland !!!! Great times beckon for sure.

Anyone who thought we would win the league is a liar.

I had £5 on us to win at 16-1, but only because I do it every year!

I am not a liar. i thought we would win the league - because 1 we showed good signs in the latter part of last season, and 2 I am an incurable optimist.

I still think we will do it!

I of course had no idea, but prior to the season when Evan and I were talking football he figured midtable, 10-12th was all Brighton could hope for. Over the moon he would be at your current status!

I thought something similar, maybe not the title but a good chance of automatic promotion. If you look at our points per game in the latter part of last season it shows how much we had improved, possibly it was even promotion form. Also they way we played against Sunderland gave my great confidence we'd do well.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

When we won at Swindon on the opening day - because they had made the play-offs last year - I thought it was a good omen. Right but for the wrong reason because they have turned out to be one of the worst sides in the league. But we did play good passing football that day (the pass from Jamie Smith to put Sparrow in for the second was sublime) and we have never looked back. This is unquestionably the most convincing Brighton side I have ever seen in the way they are able to dominate games, play their own style of football, and make decisions on the pitch. That includes the side that went up to League 1.

Maybe I am counting my chickens but I think it is merited - in my view it is now effectively a one game season vs SCC. Win that one and we will not just go up as Champions but what I believe may be a record points total and points gap to second.

I was hoping for playoffs, I thought Southampton, Wednesday, Charlton, Huddersfield, Plymouth and others would outspend us and that quality would shine through.

Gus is unbelieable and has changed the club for the better from bottom to top, as a Brighton fan of old I still expect us to be fighting relegation next year. However I believe Gus has other plans, cannot wait for him to suprise me again.

Great time to be an Albion fan..
