agreed, but where is the middle ground? soon as you start closing things people get shirty as they have "lost their freedom of speech"... thats the beauty of NSC, its loosely moderated!! Its a warm friendly pub with a cosy fire and a few twats!! OK so reel 'em in everynow and then but be warned, it may turn into something less than it has become...

I can see what you're saying but I'm not sure a warm friendly pub ( which NSC is ) would tolerate some of the stuff we get on here, Wind up or no wind up.

At mod towers we have a line in the sand. Being like minded we all know where it is, and try as best as possible to be consistent in the approach.

I don't agree with the views of Oceanic or Watto, but the way to counter such views is shirley via reason and education, rather than name calling and banning.

My TV remote has the choice of about 50 channels, I only watch a maximum of 5 or 6 of them, the same principle applies to NSC. If it is going to bore you, don't open the thread, life is precious, don't waste it on a subject matter that does not interest you.

I get to read very little on NSC currently but if you read something that goes too far, please report it so that any appropriate action against the postings and/or users can be considered.

We don't like deleting things people have taken the time to write, and we don't like removing posting privileges but will do so when it is required.

We know who the usual suspects are and any thread started by say, Oceanic is bound to irritate. Looney and Twatty have their ways and I might not agree with a lot of what they say but they do tend to try to raise valid points, even if it is from their own point of view.

The only exception to this rule is 1066 and his many guises. The thing you can tell from the shere banality of his posts who it is. He doesn't set out offend I'm sure he's just rather naive and frankly not that bright. More people would give him the benefit of the doubt if he took time out to read the (mainly) good and well intentioned advice that people offer.
