It's often used as a defence of some of NSC's openly racist and obnoxious posters (Das Reich is a great example) that it's all about open-speech.

But is it? Really? Is it about free speech or keeping the posts rattling through?

Personally, I don't want to see this stuff anymore now than I ever have, and I want them gone.

That very suspicious "just another person" or whatever was clearly a right-wing agitator, and it was allowed.

Time for them to go, or, not that my input will be missed, me.

Just ignore the threads that are obviously going to include stuff from those you don’t like then.....[emoji849][emoji849] Put the individual posters you know you don’t want to read on ignore........stop looking at NSC so much.....

While I sympathize with the OP's opprobrium, I have been a longstanding advocate, indeed a campaigning advocate of the ignore function.

Apparently some folk I have on ignore, and some folk who are auditioning for the accolade, sometimes try to mock me for ignoring them. So some pals tell me. Ladies, sorry, you're on ignore. Now pull up your pants and make me a cup of tea.

A words for the mods: supeb judgement, including people at the other end of the spectrum to me. I have had my collar felt myself a couple of times. No bans, fortunately. No complaints. Their decisions were pathetic, but no complaints

As for droopy, he's doing lots of younger readers a service: illustrating what an old racist with a limited vocab and no empathy looks like. The token racist, not allowed to use his chosen name, nobody giving him a thums up apart from 'get in the sea', 'mouldy brains' and the other idiot. We're not laughing with you, we're laughing at you.

To the OP, put the tossers on ignore and all you'll read is centre right and left tutting at their soppiness And lots of good NS chat!

I was actually asked if I wanted to be a mod in 2003. I declined (I was too busy cutting my swath at the time). These days Darren would probably rather flop his JT into the palm of a lunatic with a carving knife than let me loose on here

I think the idea is you don't want me inside the tent, pissing in your soup, or ear, when you could have me outside, kicking Das Reich's sorry arse around the metaphorical cow field, without even having to read his posts. One of the downsides of being a mod is you can't put the dimbots, racists, cockwombles, thunder***** and general D streamers on ignore. The rest of us can. And....exhale.
