Of all the ridiculous things I have heard in the aftermath and post mortem of the England debacle this morning was on 5 Live with Tim Lovejoy.

He stated he was fed up with people criticising the players and it was not the players fault for not qualifying and not to keep having a go at them. What a muppet, ultimtely it is the players who are responsible for the mess and the shambolic performance last night.

McClown was clearly the wrong man all the time and his tactical ineptitude cost us a Summer of football and the economy £ 1 000 000 000. After we were luckily given a get out of jail card that had to be the worst 45 minutes of football from any England football team in the countries history. BHAFC would have been embarrassed with the standard of football , even a pub team would have been pissed off with the first 2 goals.

We are not there as we are shite and fully deserve to be watching other teams next summer. Still the good news for the players is they can pack their bags and have a summer holiday 4 weeks early without the inconvenience of the European Championships. The only 2 players to hold their heads high last night were Crouch and Beckham. If McClown had picked the team and formation in the 2nd half we would have qualified.

The rest of the players should be roundly booed this week end when they play every time they get the ball. No passion, no skill, no commitment but a very healthy bank balance and a dizzy blonde tart on their arms.

This is an all time low in England football history and Barwick should have resigned this morning. Has the man no principles or pride ?. The fact the FA have appointed him responsible for picking the next manager beggers believe.

So Lovejoy you are talking out of your arse, and have done I assume as you are pally with the England players and still want to be invited to the next Hello, wedding shoot or OK Magazine summer bbq at Lampards gaff.

Have a total clear out of the FA, the overpaid undertalented players and appoint Coppell to clear up the mess and start planning for World Cup 2010.

That is all

You should read his book.

Lovejoy was great on Soccer AM - an entertainment programme - but a) knows FA about football, b) loves himself.

I think this stems from Lovejoy's 'celebrity' status and through this he has built up friendships with the top players.

He is just trying to protect his mates.

"country's history"

its about the history of the country, not history of many countries.

He apparently also cannot wipe his arse without reading "Tim wipes his arse" on an autocue. He, along with all the Top Gear presenters, is someone whose successful career as a TV presenter seems totally baffling to me, there's just nothing there.

:

I do hope that happens, sick to death of those players, who took my $55 last night, without giving me anything back for it (Beckham/Crouch goal excepted).

I wouldn't go quite as far as to say an exciting game. It was exciting when we got the 2nd goal, because the feeling was we should be able to hang onto this.

Croatias football was OK, but to be fair I didn't go as a neutral, but as an England fan, so their football qaulity was of no interest to me. I really don't think the England players did their best, so I feel my [hard earned] money was disresepected by the performance of suposedly world class England players.
