It’s the national average, it includes millions and millions of highly skilled professionals, and building trades people on the cards.

Please note that I’ve never had an issue with builders day rates or any disputes. I’ve family in the industry. They say £225 to £250 per day is good living, no complaints.

Aren’t you London based where housing is much more expensive, then you have ULEZ and congestion (dead time) getting around.
It may be a good living for them and if so good for them. If I charged those prices I'll be stuck renting with no pension / savings for the next 30 years

They earn that money working 4 or 5 full days per week, every week, only heavy rain stopping them if outside work. Using rainy days for quotes, visiting new potential customers, ordering materials, paperwork. Old school hard working.

I know a lot of people in the sector including people running developers or construction companies. They light heartedly joke about the changes in a generation. Builders used to work 7:45 til 5 with a couple of breaks. Now roads get busy with vans mid afternoon as builders head home if not working near home. Things have changed …. a better quality of life?

Yes fair enough, I think I'm in my own category tbh as I rarely need to get other trades involved in my bathroom jobs especially. As well as private, I work in many local schools and leisure centres too.
Probably have 75% of estimates accepted and people happy to wait several months to start so I know i can't be the most expensive out there.
