When I see some of the futile things that Researchers are being paid to Research, it is no wonder that we haven't yet found cures for important illnesses.

I want to know what the OP was looking for to find that article

I wasn't looking to find anything, it was on the BBC news at lunchtime.

I found it fascinating.

As a wise man once said........

The top 100 ways to casually mention you consider yourself to be a runner?

Not at all.

I am bang average, I have no intentions to big this up.

I thought it was very unlike the BBC to show this.

If I wanted to do that then I could have set a poll up for what lube do you use on your nipples to prevent chaffing.

1) Baby oil
2) Petroleum jelly
3) KY
4) Salivia from a llama (not Adam)

Can someone explain this bit please?

Researchers found that women running in a bra with poor support shorten their stride by four centimetres. This could add up to running an extra mile or 1.5 kilometres over the length of a marathon.

How the **** can taking shorter strides increase the distance you are running? The distance from point a to point b remains exactly the same whether you cover that distance in a single stride or a gazilion strides?

I assume they are doing some silly calculation like saying if you did the same amount of steps, but at 4cm longer each then you'd run that extra distance. complete ball cocks though really!

Cadence. Basically you take more steps faster.

A short, quick stride pattern is normally faster over longer distances. It also avoids cramp risk in your hamstrings.

EDIT - ignore me. Shorter stride pattern can be FASTER but there is no way you'll cover more distance. Sorry.
