Just a quick point.

1. What exactly do some of the stewards think they are there for?

Answer, crowd control, observing the ground rules( no standing, running on pitch) and also HELPING PEOPLE FIND THEIR SEATS! its not rocket science....if you see people struggling, GO AND HELP THEM!!!!!!!!

MEMO TO THE CLUB

Whose the genius who thought of putting paper seat number labells on seats and posts on seating open To the elements whereby after two months the rain has washed all the labells off? COME ON...OWN UP.

2. Last night in Row M seats 204 and 205 ish had duplicate tickets issued. On set full price and then 1 set of 2 tickets U16. HOW IN THE NAME OF ALL THAT IS HOLY DOES THAT HAPPEN?

Your answers would be gratefully received

Not a single seat number is now visible in Row A of Blocks H&J. This normally never bothers Roz or me, since we are the Nobby No-Mates who usually have the whole row to ourselves. But not last night.

The Club should either replace the seat number labels or stop selling tickets. I have a horrible feeling they'll choose the second option.

Was speaking with a couple of Forest fans on the P&R bus after the game and they said how helpful the stewards were in the away end last night - letting them all stand up.

That avoids a confrontation so all the club have to is report them for not sitting down.

Seems quite regular for away fans, the trouble is the club knows where home fans sit.

Quite a few dupicate tickets in H block last night. Didn't help by the fact that you can't see the seat numbers any more, and the row letters are not to clear either. Stewards did not seem interested until a group of blocks got into a bit of fight over who's seats were who's. I think at least one right hook was landed!

However during the match the stewards seem to suddenly take an interest and constantly try to get everyone to sit down, whilst allowing the away support to stand with little or no attempt to make them sit. This pretty much kills any atmosphere that was being created by the home fans.

As just posted on the other thread, we are 204 and 205 (and STH). It was 202 that was duplicated.

Which Hollywood blockbuster would that be or was it an Ealing Comedy ?

There may have been people with duplicate tickets, but the argy-bargy in block H stemmed from guys with tickets in row a choosing to sit in row r.

If they were displaced from their own seats by accidental duplicate tickets, then two of my mates got twatted as an eventual consequence of this error by the club! No excusing that violent over-reaction.

As for matching numbers, only about every fourth or fifth seat seemed to have a legible number on last night- not that stewards were helping people to their correct places.

By contrast, last night while watching Crowded House, once the band really warmed up, a large part of the audience decided to abandon their seats (it was all seating at the Brighton Centre), and stand down the front to dance to the music. The stewards did not go in mob-handed and chuck people out, but saw that they were having a good time and left them to it. In fact, I find that stewards at concert venues do not normally enforce rules that harshly, and only react when people do something stupid, like crowd surfing. In fact, in many ways, going to a gig is now far more enjoyable than going to football. Ticket prices are usually reasonable, you can usually stand, and you can take a beer into the auditorium.

I think most clubs take this attitude with away fans. The stewards tell you to sit down during the first 5 minutes and then after that dont bother as normally there aren't any police inside the ground to back them up. I get the impression that the stewards with "people skills" are designated to the away sections and the odd pillock who gets over officious is not normally working there and is on a power trip.

Stewards are in a no win situation. If they interfere someone gets the arse for being told what to do, if they don't interfere they get told they're bloody useless. I think the club needs to invest a little time in appointing stewards (some seem to be honestly at most apathetic), but at the same time, a lot of people in this world need to gain a little respect for their fellow man, whether he wears a flouro coat or not.

Heaven help whats going to happen when we all take our bad habits to (insert new stadium name here)....
