Just far enough away from LDC
My family got some jovial banter from those who sit near us to say that for the Arsenal game (when we were away) all 5 tickets were taken by away fans. Would have been bought by a season ticket holder for guests I suspect

To enable me to continue to treat people over the years that would only want to sit with us I now a few times a season buy on exchange tickets in my group when they dont attend. They all do the same. Nobody wants payment so Involves 3 bank transfers to get same result but club gains by £10/20. Certainly better than having to paying for membership for every person we invite.

Here's a scam for you.

I took my 13-year old son to football training last night. The clubhouse facilities are currently undergoing refurbishment and consequently an old washing machine was sat outside, awaiting transportation to the tip / recycling centre, I presume.

My son said if we put the unwanted washing machine in the back of the car, we could raffle it for £5 a ticket. If we sold 100 tickets that would be £500 and when the winner complained it was useless bit of junk we could simply apologise, give them double their money back as a gesture of goodwill and keep the remaining £490 as none of the non-winning ticket holders would be any the wiser.

I didn't know whether to be proud or extremely worried. Anyway, before I forget, please PM me if you want a raffle ticket for Zanussi FC1200W Studio Compact. Only £5.
Sounds like the lad will go far🤣

Did I hear right that they have removed the bar code on the e ticket so you can’t copy it and send it to a mate.

not that I have done it as I put mine in the ticket exchange

The amount of arsenal fans coming from the uni car parks at that game it doesn’t surprise me. I thought only members could by parking tickets

It’s certainly gone from my season ticket.

Yeah, that's my take on it. I never usually like to pass up a chance to lay into the club for introducing/enforcing petty, penny-pinching regulations, but I'm struggling to see what the issue really is. The bottom line is the OP's mates legitimately got to see a PL match for slightly less than £20 a ticket. That's not a scandal or a scam; that's a bargain.
Depends if they were Brighton fans.

We buy three adult season tickets , myself and two sons. We normally go together. Yesterday 8pm midweek neither son could go so I invited two friends .. Rang ticket office. No transfers allowed unless I pay for ticket share to member. However if you put them on exchange you can then buy them back and anyone can go with you. Rather than leave seats empty and let down my two invited friends I did this, bought two of our tickets back for £120 and just been refunded £82.20 so costing me £37.80. Scandal or Scam in my opinion.
However if you are rich and have 1901 tickets I believe you can take anyone you like with out having to buy your tickets twice.
One rule for them and one rule for us !!
You might think the ticket price is 'scandalous' but this is neither a scam nor a scandal - it is just the official ticket policy.

I used the print at home yesterday and it cost £2.50. This is because I upgraded my son's ticket to an over 65 and was arriving at different time to my old man who doesn't have a mobile phone (or not one he switches on since he opined the ring tone upset the cat). My dad never worked out how to work the video so it's too late now to teach him new tricks. Even with the paper copy last night he thought he was part of Oceans 11 under the scanner (as it turned out I went in with him, money well spent)

Charging 2.50 for something that costs nowt and I've printed out really is a bit of a piss take IMHO.

Pointing out the obvious I know, but the club don’t force anyone to go so how can it be a scandal? Everyone has the freedom to walk away, and really football clubs today are doing everything possible to destroy loyalty so why not pick and choose according to success?!

Cost of each ticket. 1/19th of £880 season ticket , so cost £46 + £60 to buy back £106, less £41 returned so £65. So club gains £38 for the two tickets we had already paid for !!!

However seems I`m in the minority for considering this to be a bit of a scam.
