Renewed two season tickets on Saturday, using the 5 instalment plan, which starts debiting instalments from the last day in May. All fine so far.

So I go to the bank today to get some beer tokens out, and discover a balance that is suddenly £547 short of what I expected it to be....they've managed to deducted the cost of the tickets in ONE hit.

I've just got off the phone to the legendary scottish chap in the ticket office, and in fairness he could not have been more helpful. He apologised profusely and is arranging for an immediate refund, which should hit my account by Monday - Tuesday at the lastest, and he'll refund any bank charges incurred as a result (although there won't be any).

Seems I'm not the only one though, as there had been one or two others apparently - the same member of staff who processed the app, and he'll be "reiterating to them to be more careful in checking whic boxes have been ticked on the applications".

So anyone else paying in instalments, I recommend you have a quick snifter at your account balance, just to be sure....

Oh and  to scottish bloke for sorting it out with a minimum of fuss.
Phew.

If ONLY they'd got Scottish Paul, to sort out the global banking crisis.

Scottish Paul really is fast become a Leg-End - Extrmely pleasant and helpful - Having said that they always seem to have been in the shop / ticket office - let's hope these people stay on for Falmer - maybe with a cheeky wage increase for being so bloody good...

He negotiated the coalition deal you know - and delayed Gordon Brown going to the palace too until Samatha Cameron's blue dress had come back from the dry cleaners.

Admit it you just wanted everyone to know that you have in excess of £550 in the coffers!

I know many of you will have been worried about my parlous financial state after the Albion tried to clean me out last week. Just to reassure you, the refund has credited my account today, Scottish Paul has played a blinder.

Thank christ for that. I was getting sick of beans on toast.

Just so you don't feel left out, it happened to me as well. Fortunately, I was in the shop and was surprised at the lower price given to me. They refunded immediately but it was two quid shorter than what they'd taken. Must have been the phantom 'administration charge'. Couldn't be arsed to pursue it.
