Ticket Chaos Tonight (the after)

I assume that all you posters moaning about the chaos tonight have seen the apology on the official website.

Anyone who has stated that they have the right to turn up when they want rather than when is practical deserved what they got. For others who suffered, surely it is clear the problem was mainly due to the extra number sold on the back of a great result on Saturday.

I have supported BHA for over 30 years and can remember having to queue for tickets for big games (eg Derby in the League cup in 76) by attending reserve games when there was 33500 attending the game. Don't remember many people complaining then. Probably the same for the cup final. I know Barnet is not a big game but at the end of the day, we are a small club run on a shoestring and are not geared up to respond like Ticketmaster. The club are going to address the issues so hopefully problems will not arise again. On that note, can you not consider the thread closed and start a new one praising the team on the start to this campaign.

Furthermore, any dickhead making a comparison to Hillsborough should remember that a large chunk of the problem there was ticketless fans being let in (to prevent crushing outside). Hardly in the same league!

Complete toilet drew, I'm afraid.
As stated previously, not EVERYONE has the luxury of turning up 30-45-60 minutes before kickoff for a midweek game (although even that wasn't enough time tonight). Lots have to travel, many have work commitments, And I'm sorry, but if the club can't cope with a few hundred extra ticket sales off the back of a win at Crewe, then surely you have to see there is something deeply, fundamentally wrong with the ticket organisation ?

Your other points are irrelevent. Yes we've all queued for hours for tickets to a big game, but not on the DAY of the game. Tonight should have been a simple process of turning up to collect a ticket that had been bought in advance, and the club couldn't even sort that out for a pitiful crowd against a bunch of 4th division nobodies.

And you are blaming the FANS ?

If I dont have my season ticket by tomorrow I will launch a brick through the club shop window, dive through the hole that has been made, rampage throughout the shop, slamming every last piece of clothing and merchandise on the floor, before climbing over the ticket area punching through the computer screens and then kicking the shit out of the Palace fan that works there.

Pick up your ticket whilst you're there, won't you? Will save you some hassle on Saturday probably.

Some posters tonight are saying that they saw people pay at the ticket collection points tonight.

After the poor organistaion I saw tonight I am not in a position to doubt this.

I can confirm this does happen. Seen it too at previous games, especially when away supporters turn up without tickets.

Don't you know anything about the conditions of our playing at Withdean! We are not allowed by the terms of those conditions to have pay at the gate. If the club had insisted on that, then we may well still be playing at Priestfield!!!

It was actually easier to get to a game at Priestfield than it is at the Withdean.

I am with you, STH and not happy with the clubs management tonight

Amazing what a difference a few hours can make:thumbsup:

Having experienced it yourself now you can see why I couldn't be bothered.

Somebody on the phone-in explained what happened to him when he phoned for tickets. Got through, was 9th in the queue (or thereabouts) witha 29 minute wait. He was down to 4th in line and got disconnected. Called straight back, was put in a queue again, he moved down a few places only to get disconnected again. He called back again (it is now 5:25) and got the message that the ticket office was closed-call back tomorrow.

I've had he exact same thing happen to me when buying additional tickets. Then you call the ticket office in the morning and there's nobody there.

As much as I'll back the club in almost everything they do-their ticketing is a f***ing joke. Do they want our money? Doesn't seem like it.

Yep I am shocked about how disorganised the club was tonight, it has taken away from our great result. This was my first dealings with Ken Brown and I appreiate he was in a very stressful situation but was suprised at his reaction to fans trying to express their feelings.

I love the club but if the current management cannot create a system that looks after all fans and generates money, the board should make another bold stand and change them.

The bloke on the phone in was Jon and I saw him there tonight trying to explain to stewards what was going on, did'nt look like he got a positive response.

And as an aside, the latter part of that club statement:

"Meanwhile, the club have confirmed that final batch of approximately 200 season tickets were despatched today; supporters should receive these ahead of Saturday's opening home league game with Bristol Rovers."

Still waiting for my ST. Will the club be sending it round by courier, as I don't fancy queueing up on Saturday at the booth after tonights fiasco?
I'm with Easy, it's just shite they can't send them out before the season starts. I hope they don't forget the DVD as well...............

I dont think we will ever get a satisfactory answer to TICKETGATE from the club. It will just be blamed on the new ticket system and that will be how it is left.

Which is a bit shit for the people that got left standing outside for whatever reason

Whatever the reasons behind this a League 1 club should not be in the position where it cannot cope with a late surge in ticket sales.

Nobody can dispute that surely?

Lessons need to be learned if the club want to move forward;

No one was controling a crowd that was getting anrgy and had young children in it

Casual fans paying money the club needs will not return

NO one made any decsions

Organistaion was poor

If I managed my work that way I would be out of a job and the club need to check is this how they want to be percieved by fans.

It would have been quite laughable to have had a "delayed kickoff" popping up round the country for Albion v Barnet though.

"Cor, the Adams factor must really be kicking in down there then !"
"Oh, hang on.....delayed kickoff for, err, 2,500 ?"
