No Gardening today in RH20, have had a couple of Cloudbursts along with the Thunder.

Has topped up the Pond and filled up the Water Butts nicely.

Bugger all in BN2, just a bit windy. Still quite muggy though.

Back in East Sussex
I was walking on the downs around Amberley and I got tipped on with torrential rain three times - the third lot had lighting and thunder too.

I discovered that when you're on the open downs at the top you can get soaked through very quickly.

If you do get caught in a lightning storm then please remember to lay flat on the ground, face down and cover your ears.
You will feel all the hairs stand on end before a lightning strike so you get a second or two warning, but hit the deck like I said and you should be ok.

Unless you're Roy Sullivan. Not only was he hit by lightning on seven separate occasions, but he also fought off bears with a stick on 22 separate occasions.
Someone up there seriously wanted this guy dead.

Yes,they do say if you are hit by lightning then it's highly likely you will be hit again.
It's a fascinating phenomenon.

Where is the source of this information?

Everything I understand (and have double-checked from sources that should know) state that lying flat on the ground is one of the more dangerous things you can do if caught in a lightning storm.
