I do agree but we still need to be able to get up the pitch and veltman doesn’t really offer that and from what I’ve seen against teams in the league cup he just isn’t a natural rb alzate isn’t either but he offers plenty of dynamism

You make a fair point, but realistically we’re going to going to be defending more than attacking. I’m sure Potter will come up with something.

I want White in midfield and Veltman as CB, so that leaves Alzate for wing back I guess. Our right and left wing backs aren't really defenders at all are they. They provide wide cover but are mainly up the pitch.

Cool and classy. TBH I thought that Dunk was on his bike and Veltman was going to come in and take the armband. That didn’t happen but it seems a crime for him not to be in the starting eleven. He’s just too good to be a benchwarmer.

Veltman over Webster any day on all evidence seen so far. Quality player.

I'd have him over White & even Lewis on current form, frankly.

Veltman clearly has something. Ajax played him every game, Rain or shine. However he does have some fundamental flaws. He's slow and his distribution is suspect. Dutch fans have a fit every time he plays for the national team.

Good option, Dunk and Webster should be looking over their shoulders as he is a class act

I'd play Dunk, White, Veltman as the three atm.

I like Veltman. We have a lot of very good options at centre back but I would go with Dunk White and Veltman and give Webster a break!

Veltman White Dunk as the core, Lamptey and March ABs. Depth in squad to Rotate as necessitates. Veltman class. Happy days

As I said before, I really rate Veltman and think he should be starting but definitely as a centre back. The Lamptey suspension following March’s injury really highlights how reliant we are on those two in this system, we need to try and sign cover for both.

If either of them are out I feel we need to change to a back 4 as Veltman and Burn are adequate back up full backs but not wing backs.
