the riverside was one of the first of the bigger new builds, and in some ways is a sort of blue print for those that followed

it's in a decent location in terms to its proximity to the town centre and station, but by god is it grim round there......i'd imagine the stadium was built there to spark a wave of growth in the area (and there is the modern looking college and that weird massive sculpture) but apart from that its grim grim grim

i didn't think 27 quid for championship football resembles good value for money, especially when you consider that middlesbrough and the surrounding areas are hardly known for their wealth........prices for food etc weren't amazing either.....no wonder it's only ever about half full

i like the old gates from their old ground and the statues and that....that was decent

Not been to Boro since 1990-are the cranes still dotting the skyline up there?

they would get more in if it wasn't 27 quid, to be fair, i only paid 14 (thank you electronic turnstiles).

Thought the surrounding area was ok, obviously in a period of regeneration, might actually look nice if/when finished. town centre also very new looking.

parmo gave me the shits though.

I thought it was ok. Prefer it to Stoke as no gaps in corners, not as good as the Maj Stad.

it's been in a period of regeneration since the mid 90's though.........what you saw was basically all that's happened there since then

Miles better than Stoke and far friendlier fans than those Neanderthals in the Potteries.

Pride Park is almost identical as it was modelled on Riverside. It was sheltered so not so cold inside and fairly good leg room. Teesside has always been industrial so no surprise the surrounding area is still grim. It was fuller yesterday than the League Cup game we had in 2003, so looked better from that aspect. It was awful with only 5000 fans in there.

Middlesbrough is very grim in general to be honest. Really not a fan of the Riverside either, the only good thing is the huge allocation that they give us, a change from the 1,700 one they gave us for 'persistant standing' back when they actually got decent crowds!

If anyone on here moans about the quality of the food/kiosks/service at the Amex I would send them to Riverside and they would appreciate what we have at Falmer
