This. Although I decided against Spurs due to cost. Would have been almost £40 for tickets for me and my son and then add another £30/£40 for travel and food/drink etc. Just cant do it so it's Donny for me. I'm also going to Gills though - first night game, cheap tickets - no brainer. But I am jealous of all the people going tomorrow. The place will be jumpin.

Martinf, do you mind if I cut and paste your comment as my post, I feel exactly the same. My son, due to sporting commitments cant make most Saturdays (absolute blinding golfer - will update his progress later) so I've given him my seat for tomorrow. My plan was to make Donny the first game, but come 1.30pm I just couldn't help myself attending the SSC Final. Got drenched

hose that chose not to go because it's only a friendly/to expensive or just couldn't be bothered I hope you finally get to sleep tonight knowing you could & should be there tomorrow.

Don't think this is true. It's only a friendly. And it's not even the first game in the new stadium. Donny's the one that matters, but I hope everyone who goes tomorrow has a cracking time.

I am in two minds to be honest. I am pleased i have chosen the Donny game as my first proper game, but i am still rather jealous TBH. Hope to see a mass of pics and videos tomorrow evening

I personally don't like pre season friendlies, but if I were a Brighton fan I would consider going to the Spurs game, especially if it is being advertised to celebrate the ground opening. I'm glad our game next week is the first league fixture though.

I think a few people in this thread may need reminding that there is more to life than just football. Or, there is to some people.

I thought i would be regretting my decision not to go, especially after having a walk around the ground this afternoon, but am still glad i made the decision to wait. As much as i'm sure tomorrow will be superb for those who are going, i just didn't want my first experience of Falmer to be below full capacity, or a game i'm not too bothered about the result for!
This was how i felt when it was confirmed, but now wish i had used my ticket :tantrum:

Mixed emotions about today for me. Would have liked to be there but like some have said, one more week for the proper start WILL be worth the wait...

There will be some that attend today that won't be there next week and I bet they will be more jealous of that than I am of them!

You enjoy your day today and I will have my moment next week!

I'd have been there if I could be, but am on hols today. Back for the Donny game and the Gills game. I'm sure my mate will be sending me videos from his phone as usual. Will be weird to be under a roof after all this time. I can't wait for another week.

This has been more difficult to get tickets to than Doncaster hasn't it?

No regrets at all (my mum's also arriving this afternoon so I wouldn't be able to go anyway).

Next week is the day - it's been marked on the calendar for months.

Not read the whole thread yet, so sorry if repeating someone else.

I think in years to come, the Donny game will be regarded as "the first game at Falmer" in the same way as nobody thinks of the Forest friendly as being the first game at Withdean.

I'm not going today and am very comfortable with having chosen next weekend for my pilgrimage.

As soon as the fixtures were announced, I made my mind up to miss the Spurs game.
Youngest grandson having my seat instead.

Saving it all up for Donny and not regretting it (so far), but hope everyone that's going today has an absolutely fantastic time.

I'm still very happy I'm watching the Donny game first. Today's game won't be maximum capacity, and after 60 minutes it won't be a proper game. I'm sure everyone going will love it, but I want my first experience to be at a sell-out where points are up for grabs.

And as Ninja Elephant said, there's more to life than football

I felt a bit guilty because my son wanted to go today and i persuaded him to wait until next week, but the moment the fixtures came out and it was Donny there was no way i was going to a warm up game. I've even avoided the tours so that I can remain virginal till next saturday

Have a great day today, but i'm glad i waited
