Was it Bavaria that at the last World Cup handed out about a thousand lederhosens (spelling) and the Dutch fans were forced to take them off and watch the match in their underwear. Think i saw this on some BBC3 programme.

Yes, this company have form for hijacking World Cup matches.

Hmmmm what fifa need to realise is that all of the Dutch are actually full on wallies and don't own any other coloured clothing than orange!

We went on Safari yesterday and whilst out on the range bumped into another group who had some Dutchies with them. We were told to dress conservatively and not to wear and bright colours. Yep you've guessed it the Dutchies were head to toe in orange including stupid hats.

Just been down the beach here in Durban and there are loads of the plums down on the sea front. Guessing they are playing here soon?

I've been informed that the outfit was given out by Bavaria in Holland with packs of the beer, so i guess the women wearing them is conceived to be advertising. But as many have said, the amount of exposure that they have got now far exceeds what they would have got had Fifa done nothing.

Anheuser-Busch, who make Budweiser own Seaworld. Killer Whales really are far, far to big and intelligent to be held in captivity, as are dolphins. Therefore, Budweiset is bad.

Would be the arguement.

When I saw this story I presumed it was Oranjeboom beer.
Draconian to take their passports away, on what legal grounds?

Because FIFA insisted that as part of the awarding of the world cup the SA government introduce a law that allowed them to and SA agreed. The UK has done something very similar after being awarded the olympics.

The laws that FIFA made SA introduce are legion and draconian.

For example there is a no fly zone around the stadia during games for general aviation, light aircraft essentially, and originally this was to be 3 nautical miles radius. 2 days before the first game this was changed to 50 nm with no notice, meaning that it is now almost impossible to fly light aricraft on any day of a game anywhere near j'burg or pretoria. Meaning all the flying schools can not now teach their students.

And we can expect very similar restrictions during the olympics on all sorts of things. You won't be able to pay except with an approved credit card, you won't be able to drink anything other approved drinks, try entering a stadium with a t-shirt bearing a non-approved logo and watch yourself be turned away.
