No but theres nothing linking us now ,
just hope we r not only after that lad from Sunderland especally with his injury record. I c we have made a second bid now.

I somehow doubt that we're expecting someone who's been playing in the Championship to perform the same role and at the same level as a Danish international playing in the Bundesliga, no.

No reason to conclude that he is our only target.

Paddy McNair joined SAFC from ManU for circa £5.5m including another player.

He, as I understand suffered ACL injury which limited his appearances more than somewhat. He returned to the SAFC team towards the end of season past and, as an attacking MF scored something like 5 in 6 so highly regarded up there.

I would certainly not be concerned about the club signing him as, of course, any transfer would be subject to the Albion's stringent medical.

I believe we would reasonably have to offer no less than £4.5m to acquire this 23 year old who shows very considerable promise !

Have copied this post to the Paddy McNair thread as it is more appropriate there and there is unlikely to be any movement on TD !

I think you are over thinking things a little. The club is bound to have more than a few irons in the fire to cover all eventualities. No reason it can't go for both.

I don’t think it’s gone quiet as such, seems Delaney wants to go there and clubs are just haggling over a fee.

I’m imagining that either his price was too rich for us, or was only interested in a move to a more established Prem team.... as that interest clearly didn’t come he has chosen Dortmund.

He was a player id have liked us to sign, however his fee along with the mixed reviews of how he played last season plus the luke warm responses from Dortmund fans to his signing make me not so worried we missed out on this one.

It’s an odd one . He’s not good enough for top 6 Prem and according to football journos in Germany he’s not good enough to start for Dortmund , Infact I’m not convinced he could displace Stephens or Propper .

Dortmund aren’t going to pay the silly price WB are asking for , so when realism hits and his price drops it could bring us back into play .

If he wants Prem then the time is now at 26

I’m not bothered either way on this one , good addition if we did get him but won’t be overly disappointed if we don’t .

Indeed.

And whilst I think Delaney is a little unlikely now, I don't think that it is McNair or Delaney, as we probably need 2 new central midfielders anyway.
