he was relieved of his responsibilties, he got the bullet, the old heave
-ho, why do you care?
Because the club monitor NSC and if something incorrect is in here they don’t like it’s the site admins who get tapped up Rog, not you.

Do you think anyone is buying that?

I always assumed (as was generally reported) that the rift between TB and RDZ (if rift it was) was due to TB not being prepared to sink many millions into new signings, yet as soon as the market opened we went in guns blazing ( by our standards at least) and it looks like we are going to land Diego Gomez as well swelling our squad to bursting with new, exciting, young talent. Which is surely what RDZ wanted. So what happened to cause what appeared to be a major dummy spit from RDZ during the last months of the season. I doubt TB had a revelation that RDZ was correct all along and did a sudden 180 on his often-reported position ?

I'm sure that TB planned to spend in this window as he as. But RDZ wanted more. We're still not spending as much as the top 6, which is what Roberto wanted. My guess is that Roberto was just a bit petulant. The end to our season was not good enough, and I think that's on him (in so far as it was under our control, with the injuries we had).

I might be way off, but I thought a part of the issue was that RDZ wanted more personal control on signings, whereas TB & BHA are quite firm on analytical/data-based recruitment - which has mostly worked damn well for us in recent years.
I think this is right - it was not just about splashing the cash, more that RDZ wanted more control over the singings. This was pretty clear in the statements that were made around the time he left - with him saying that he had a way of doing things that wasn't compatible with TB.

Good, because a football club isn't suing supporters over speculation if a manager was sacked or not.
If I were you I’d think about some advice the mods have regularly had to post on here.

Your post could be read by anyone at any time. And if that someone decides what’s been written is libellous you’d better be able to defend it to the word as factual in a court.

On this thread people have posted as fact things they are simply guessing at. Let’s hope De Zerbi doesn’t see @OvingdeanSeagull ’s post,

However, sometimes posts or threads are removed or locked just because it’s the right thing to do rather than anything legal.

You weren’t here when Poyet went. Trust me there’s a whole board’s worth of posts that were moved to save people from themselves on that subject.

I feel that you want to use your position of power to shut down a debate about a topic that feels a bit awkward to you, namely that the lad you both worshipped _and_ identified with turned out to be a complete dickhead...

A month ago you sat here claiming as a fact that there was a 50% chance Solly March will never play football again. Would you be willing to go to court over it? I know you were often in the Connolly thread, where there was no end of speculation about his private life etc - not a word from any mod about "avoiding speculation" or "getting contacted by the club" or "lets hope Aaron doesn't read it".

The same can be said for hundreds of individuals mentioned on this board on a daily basis. The reasons you're (and you, specifically you) waving around with the "libel" flag anywhere RDZ threads are glaringly obvious to everyone with a brain, no matter their own positon on RDZ himself.

But yeah I'm going back to trying to avoid having anything to do with you.

Kin hell. I'm off to one of the riots at this rate. Who cares why he's gone? He gone to be Mason Greenwoods Bessie mate and that's all there is to it.

Long live Hürzeler. Unless he's rubbish #Hürzelerout
MG not putting the effort in with his pre-match stretches, RDZ looking on, unimpressed: "Open your fokin legs, no?"

Your usual complete lack of nuance and inability to be wrong about anything ever.

Perhaps you should re-read Pascal’s leaving note where he credits RDZ as the most influential coach he’s ever had. Then look at the Greenwood thread where every single Brighton fan is condemning that signing.

Then perhaps understand that libel applies to matters of fact (e.g. stating for a fact RDZ tried to sign Greenwood for Brighton is different to having an educated opinion that a player who’s not yet returned to running only has a 50/50 chance of playing Premier League football.)

I honestly feel that TB had noted the massive drop-off in results in 2024 and the drop in morale among the squad, and was unimpressed by the squad and himself being repeatedly flung under the bus in RDZ press conferences.

When the time came for the contract chat, I suspect TB was looking for:

a) assurances that RDZ could work happily within Brighton’s structure as part of that team, rather than appearing to criticize from outside.

And

b) that RDZ had sufficient self-awareness and self-control to understand why the team performances had dropped in 2024, and understood his own part in that having happened.

I suspect what he got in return was a variation on RDZs “I cannot tell a lie” speech, and it became clear to both parties that their futures lay apart.

All entirely my own opinion, and we’ll never know the truth, not until the authorised biographies come out anyway.

I think the problem is that your posts on threads like this don't do anything to help you shed the image of Potter fanboy in favour of that of a more recent Albion supporter. You've only come back once our ride with RDZ started to sour slightly, and you've gone out of your way to post on a thread like this with nothing but negativity about him. You've got to read the room of Albion fans where if the last three managers were to return to the Amex as a guest, 100% of fans would applaud Chris Hughton, 85% would applaud RDZ and only about 20% would Potter whilst many would roundly boo him (as we saw in that Chelsea game).

If Hürzeler turns out to do well for us and you enjoy it with us, I think that'd go a long way to healing wounds.

It'll be interesting to read TB's biography.
And RDZ's for that matter.
And Gus Poyet's.
There’s no chance Bloom will ever write an autobiography.

Just finished Rory Smith’s Expected Goals which is about data taking over football. Despite being the perfect club use case Brighton are mentioned three times in passing and Smith makes it clear Bloom won’t talk about it in any way.

RDZ was given a lap of honour and we made money out of his next gig.

How did we make money out of his next gig (genuine question)?

Once he'd left by mutual consent (maybe we didn't have to pay his wages?) surely he was free to join anyone without a payment to us?

Nope. We got a reported around 5 million from Marseille.

We wouldn't have got it if he'd been sacked. Thus people repeatedly claiming he was sacked are undermining about 5 mill of TB's money.
