This season so far our average league attendance is about 20,000.

if we had the full 30,000 capacity at the start of the season (with the same 17,500 st holders) how much higher would our overall average attendance be. I reckon up to 25,000. How much increased revenue would that figure achieve!???

I think it would average out to about 23-24k, some games would have significantly higher attendances like Palace and Saints, others would have the same 19-20k and it would average out.

As I said in the other thread though, if we hit the Premier League I imagine we'd sell out every game (30,500) for a while at least- but unfortunately a third of the ground would be cheering for the other team.

No way would we be giving 10,000 to the away teams, they'd get around 3,000. If you're suggesting that the extra support in the Albion end would be away fans (local or not) then you are under estimating the support for our club.

I just think it's inevitable that a proportion of fans will only get season tickets because they fancy seeing a bit of Premier League football, a 'proto-JCL' if you will.

If they're watching 19 Albion games from the Albion end then loads of them would get pulled into the atmosphere & support. I'm sure every club picks up fans that want to watch Prem football when a club goes up. Some will just go to watch top flight football, others will become long-term fans.

This - I suspect for the Palace/Saints/Liverpool matches we would have sold out 30k.

If we increased the capcity, we would also increase the percentage of season tickets available so there should still be a high demand for tickets and a good average attendance.

I replied to this on an earlier thread, but our highest EVER average was 25,264 in 77/78 and we averaged over 20,000 on 4 other occasions.Obviously these figures were helped by "big" games, but whatever, unless we reach and do well in the Premiership I doubt we shall see these figures beaten any time soon.

I am amazed at the increased transport infrastructure in and around Sussex. There is a coach that leaves from Battle and stops 2 miles from my home!!

That was unheard of in Withdean days. You had to drive yourself.
