Getting a racer, then putting Cowhorns on it.

Top Deck Shandy.

Camping out over the hockey pitch. With no adults in attendance, and overnight.

Varius relatives keeping rabbits, then having odd tasting chicken stew, with no rabbit in its hutch.

No central heating, winter was freezing inside the house, let alone outside.

Toffee apples.

Five of us saving up for a Wembley Trophy football. It got stabbed by one of the old boys down the road. We blew up his greenhouse with French Bangers.

Dumped cars. A great climbing frame.

You didnt want a lift to school. Because then you wolud be a mummys boy.

Freedom, I hope it happens again.

Across the pond
4 black jacks or fruit salads for a penny

A black and white tv from radio rentals

Wrestling on a Saturday afternoon with Kent Walton

Freezing cold cotton sheets on the bed in the winter

Black plimsols for PE, slip ons if you couldn't do your laces

Tesco bomber jeans with patches on the knees

Your first bike. With rod brakes

Painting tiny little Airfix soldiers

Clarks 'Tuff' school shoes. Guaranteed 6 months, but only lasted one good playtime. Later with animal track soles and hiden
compass in the heel.

Then they invented the 8 track, and it all went down hill.

Great thread.

Most of our first year students who started in September were born in 1986. So they were 3 when the first Stone Roses album came out, and 4 when Nevermind came out. Jesus.
