Dealing with people with a learning disability can be far easier than dealing with those without i can assure you.

I think you and I are talking at cross purposes here. I'm agreeing with you - my point is about the default position of a lot of companies that regard dealing with people with disabilities as a problem. Quite clearly, it's as offensive as it is short-sighted and the company needs to know that it's not acceptable.

Does that make sense?

What's wrong with all the other employees of this company? Why aren't they up in arms over the decision?

Looks like the perfect example of where a workforce, unionised or not, should be supporting one of their fellow workers!

i knew there was something that you and i can agree on. And let's not forget the work that albion in the community do to help some of those.

With the council cuts in this sector i'm not sure aitc will make much of a difference, millions are needed to be cut for the next 5 years. As it stands only 10% are actually on the radar now.
After great strides that have been made since the 80's it looks like we are taking a few steps back:down:

Just thought I would post their Mission Statement and Values. Pretty meaningless really!!

The Landscape Group’s mission is not characterised by bold ambitions to be ‘the biggest’ or ‘the market leader’. Our aim is much simpler, and that is to be the green service provider of choice for our clients.

We will do this by providing the very best local services delivered by local people and at the same time ensuring that these local people are backed up by the best support network in our industry.

This focus on people is extremely important to The Landscape Group. We want our people to be the best trained, most highly skilled, and best managed and motivated that they can possibly be. Clearly, our employees have differing skills sets and are at different stages of their skills journey with the company. However, we are totally committed to the development of every individual and demand universally only one thing in return – that they care about the service they deliver.

We want our people to care about the job they are doing and take pride in it, to care about the success of the company and to care about delivering an excellent service to our clients’ customers.

If every employee delivers the service customers expect and goes on to deliver just a little bit more, then we will be truly outstanding.

I wonder how much they paid a PR company to come up with that typical garbage, probably more than they pay this gardener over quite a few years!

It's a shame most, if not all, unions decided to overlook their core values in favour of 'sticking it to the man'.

I'm surprised the town council haven't picked the fella up and put him on their payroll.
