Let's stick to facts, and end the arguments once and for all. Teams are promoted at the end of the season regardless of how far ahead they may have been prior to that, and regardless of it being mathematically inevitable several matches before.
There are no promotions until the season ends.

The speaker meant 'brought'.......people drop the r because subconsciously they think it sounds posher.....

'often' pronounced 'orften' is another. The t is silent.
