grey square is NEUTRAL rep, this came up on mine too and didn't quite understand it...but had a positive comment on mine too
searched the FAQ and found there are some sort of perameters that can be set so that neutral rep occurs...such as a poster not being allowed to give rep as set by a moderator

don't know why people keep giving me negative rep? Again, I think the idea is good but can easily be abused...I've never done anything on here to deserve negative rep and yet still it piles on....why?

Yes, what does grey mean. I got a grey square and called a 'tosser'....which was nice. What would he call me if it was a red square?
Maybe it's if someone has a really bad rep themselves, their rep doesn't count towards your score - but comments still show up. Just guessing.
