I say this as a moderator, NSC has become unreadable at times in the last year. The same small number of people taking over the same types of thread and certain people starting a thread every time they see something on the telly is really driving the quality down,

Indeed.

Whilst NSC is like life with a wide spectrum of views and approaches, the desire to broadcast this 'fingers in the ears...lalalalalala' is most quaint and absurd.
Indeed. In general I don't think people care if they're ignored by someone who doesn't like them. Whenever the usual "I've ignored this guy and this guy"-suspects need to tell the world about it, I never see any raging complaints or even smallest sense of annoyance towards being ignored.

I guess not seeing threads started by some of the less desired forum playmakers could have some sort of positive impact on overall experience, but in general I find it utterly useless.

The main flaw with the whole thing is that I'm not completely pathologicaly apathetic, meaning when I see "You can't see this post because bla bla", I have to press "show what the **** wrote anyway" button and read it. Its like finding an envelope on the street with the text "NUDES" and just hand it to the police without looking. You'd have to be dead inside.

It would be good if there was an option to rate thread quality and the members whose threads consistently score low in the court of popular opinion could have their accounts limited to starting one new thread per week.

The weather poll thread from Mostafa is a direct attempt to bring in the money needed to pay Xi Jinping whatever it takes to get this feature.

Don’t see it that way at all.

There are some individuals on here who I find quite rude and at times irritating.
Rather than indulge them,I choose to ignore.

Frankly, I find people who are happy to put up with poor behaviour a bit weird.

To be fair, we had to work for our pornography back in the day, a stash found in a bush was shown the respect it deserved.

The internet has made it too easy and ruined the game. My shareholding in a small family run laminating business is irrelevant

Did I tell you about the assassination attempt program on Netflix? Or was it Hulu?

Is all well and good, but having ignored the worst offenders, I'm finding it hard to track fun/important/ sandwich related posts. Wouldn't it be sooooo much easier for some posters to just lay off? Grab a beer, think 3 times before posting yet again?
I use ignore poster very rarely and only if one really pi**es me off.
However I love the ignore thread option. I am able to avoid all the stupid polls and especially all the vitriolic political threads.

I find this rude and irritating and childish. What should I do?

You could try limiting your access to NSC for a few days?

Alternatively, I can do that for you.
I've actually done that quite a bit. You haven't paid enough attention.

I'm assuming this is a fairly recent development
