India just a far superior side, an inspirational captain and no lack of skill in batting and bowling, just too good for us, particuarly in these conditions. Well played to India. :clap2:

The shortest completed Test since 1935 (more than 2000 Tests played since then), and the 7th shortest of all time.

Difficult to believe this after the first test

A poor surface granted but the same for both sides and we had the advantage of batting first, it was tough yesterday but not impossible, the poor technique and lack of mental aptitude of our batsmen coupled with the subline skill of the Indian spinners meant this match was won in the first session. We could and should have done better in our first innings.

I would have thought Root getting 5 for 8 is all the proof you need to say that the surface was more than just poor...I dont mind losing but that was just a farce, can you imagine if Hove played like that...there would be fines all round and rightly to.

Since amassing 578 in the first innings of the first test England have managed 669 in the next 5 innings, too easy to just blame the pitch. It is a combination of some wonderful Indian bowling and dreadful England batting.

I would not be surprised if England utterly shat the bed in the final test then won the white ball series

Given the final Test is being played on this joke of a ground, I suggest they actually play the ODI top order, plus Foakes and three spinners. Just try to smash their way to 200 in each innings and hope for the best.

Playing ‘properly’ on this is essentially playing Russian roulette. Nothing to be gained from it.

It's how Rohit Sharma has played and he's looked like he's playing on a different wicket to everyone else

I thought the pitch for the 2nd test was fair - obviously favoured the spinners, but India managed to score runs in both their innings and Foakes was able to trust his defence to get to 40 odd in his first knock.

The pitch for this match was just not good enough for a test match. I understand it's the first test at the ground and the groundsman might not have a good handle on it yet, but it doesn't change the fact that it wasn't fit for purpose.

The boys are on tour. Not for me, they all cause me angst, especially Agnew.
